Just unsubscribed from SGAMMO. The prices are ridiculous. To bad, was a customer for years.

He was begging people to buy, buy, buy before ammo started going up. He kept saying, this is going to end. Then when prices first started going up, he kept saying, if you need it, buy it. Prices are going up more and won't be coming down soon.

I thought his note today was interesting.

This is our first newsletter since June 2020, and I wish I had more inventory to advertise but it has been a crazy 365 days since the historic rush to buy ammo started a year ago. Many things that were once normal have changed in this time including price and availability of ammunition. We have been dealing with severe shortages of supply, demand that has been off the charts, countless price increases from most major manufacturers and importers, dramatic increases in copper prices, a US dollar that has lost substantial value vs the Euro, and shortages on primers and powder for the many ammo manufacturers that rely on 3rd party sources for these two key components needed to build ammo. It has been the 'perfect storm' to drive prices way up and make many popular types of ammo totally unavailable. All things considered I think we have some decent deals on some calibers at this time. Keep in mind almost all handgun and shotgun ammo remains extremely limited as do popular rifle calibers, if this newsletter does not promote calibers or types of ammo that you use then future newsletters will as supply allows. We recommend that you stay subscribed even if this product list does not meet your needs, as other products will come in time. We thank you for your support of our family owned and operated business and will do our best to serve our clients well in these strange times, so please stay subscribed for future SGAmmo newsletters. If you have some spare time please take a few minutes and look over the online catalog at www.SGAmmo.com

Yes, he did this for what seemed like a year... it was at least quite a few months as his was one of the few E-mails I would read regularly. This, coupled with several good experiences, ensure that SG will always be at the top of my list to check, even if the prices turn out to be too salty for my taste.

Agreed. While his prices are a bit salty, he has stock and isn't feeding into the flippers...

This would be a good time for a venture capitalist to give me some startup for producing on products for the civilian market.. I have the knowledge, just not the money:(

I have a good friend that is in the ammunition manufacturing business (local to Ft. Wayne) can they, the company, with contacts & purchase orders between company and suppliers, cannot get components......

Now my question is what are you wanting to produce for the civilian market?

Bass Pro in Clarksville has some Aguila SuperExtra HV and CCI Quiet 22LR for $4.99 a box and Winchester 223 at $64.99 for 100 round box. Not great prices, but better than some I have seen if you really need it.

I bought a 1000 round case of CCI 9mm 115 grain FMJ at Shoot Point Blank last week for $559.06 out the door.

It stung a little, but I wanted to top off the ammo cabinet.
