What CTD has done is shameful. I hope we all remember who did what they could to keep costs at bay and who profiteered to this degree during this same time. I got 9mm fmj from sig today at $18.99 for 50 x 3 boxes. I buy from them several times a week when possible because they earned it. I do this to help family and friends who didn't prepare but I will (when I can afford it) buy a sig firearm someday because of their loyalty to the customers. They have put measures in place to help prevent the damn bots from buying it all up and I appreciate that as well.

Good call with the 3800 best v6 GM ever had. I've had the wife driving them for 15 years. For the record SHE could break an ANVIL lol and that engine has always served her without problems.

No sir I like many of you have seen this rush to some degree several times before and tried to prepare the best I could. I will not buy at those prices. I think the problem with limited supply is that when the product goes through 10 different middleman before it reaches the consumer, each middleman has to make his cut. That's business 101 but when said product starts out at an inflated price at a huge bulk level like this the bar is set much higher then when Joe blow buys a box at a buck a round from his lgs.

You don't get set the market price. Some posts in recent ammo price threads have insight from gun store owners to manufacturers. Look them up, you will understand more of what is happening. Things like 10+ million new gun owners in about 24 months, they need ammo, just 200 rounds apiece is 2 billion rounds.

Gouging is a provence of emotion, it is not real. Sellers should always be free to ask whatever they want for what they legally possess. Any attempt to control gouging usually leaves the people worse off. Government laws against gouging run counter to economics and are an appeal to emotional voters.

The last thing we as 2A supporters should be doing is damaging ANY 2A suppliers, no matter what your emotions...

I understand the new gun owners buying ammo and the covid shutdowns etc causing a short supply,materials being harder to come by. I get it. But imo it's not helping local stores supply customers when flippers and bots are buying everything in sight just to make a buck and driving prices up even worse. I get supply and demand and free enterprise. I simply will choose to deal with the ones I feel respected our 2a community more then others.

I hate the flippers, they add nothing to the market IMO. That said how can they be defeated? By manufacturers and retailers selling for close to market value. That would actually help the consumer more than the lucky few that find ammo on the shelves at below market pricing.

Here is how, retailer puts out .22 at $10, flipper buys it as soon as it is off the truck, flipper sells it to the guy wanting to plink with his son for $25 at the gun show. Flipper gets 3 boxes and makes $45 for his efforts. The buyer has to work and life responsibilities don't allow him to stalk the retailer to get it for $10 so he always gets the short end of the stick.

Now if all retailers priced it at $18, the flipper profit is less than half so the reward for flipping effort is greatly reduced and the guy has easier access for less money to what he wants.

Maybe the 2A suppliers you don't believe "respect our 2a community" are pricing their products to sell to the people not the flippers, were you not just posting about middlemen? I would rather the market value go to the retailers and manufacturers than to flippers that add nothing to the market.

So why don't the retailers and manufacturers do that with pricing? Because a bunch of butt hurt gun enthusiasts start calling for boycotts and other negative actions with their "I'll remember them" BS. We all want the best price we can get but this market is messed up partly because of attitudes like that. With pricing a little lower than the INGO average retailers can cut out flippers...

You make some very valid points Mike. I appreciate your side of this. That's what makes this site a great place. We all have different points of view and no one person is absolutely right. I personally will not support those who took extreme advantage of this situation.

I believe in markets! If I posted tomorrow that CTD had 25 cent 9mm and 30 cent 5.56, at no limit, not only would most of the butt hurt buy it from them they probably would become flippers. LOL

As much as I've used SG Ammo in the past, I'll give them props during this time.

They've increased their pricing but have most calibers in stock most of the time.

In order to buy at the best prices now, you need to watch Natchez like a hawk - which doesn't work for many. In the past week, they've had 9mm at $0.40/round and it's sold out in seconds. The 9mm they priced at $500/case surprisingly stayed up long enough (over an hour), I was able to grab a case for my brother.

So far I haven't paid over $0.35/round for 9mm, but I did pay a bit over that for 45acp.

With the talking points Biden released yesterday, my thinking of we've seen the worst so far has changed.

If you don't have a laser cartridge for dry fire training yet, I'd get one and be prepared for these increased prices to stay a while...

Several groups that send real time alerts when ammo drops from vendors like that. Also some tricks to getting oos items. And getting around the daily purchase limit without multiple addresses etc. Sig was unknowingly helping the flippers until they instituted a 3 box limit. I saw guys get 2k rounds per month every month at $680+tax free shipping for 2 1k cases of 9mm fmj and then look on armslist or gb and see it posted for a buck a round. I like making money as much as the next guy but i prefer feel like I earned it fair and square. To each their own, so on and so forth.

While I'm not a "flipper" I have invested a lot of money in ammo over the years and when prices get insane I will sell some off, why not? I do consider guns and ammo an investment. I hate that you tried to play on emotion by saying "guy wanting to plink with his son". That same guy had every opportunity to buy 22 at rock bottom prices the same as everyone else. I won't judge someone for investing their money elsewhere instead of ammo, but don't judge me for asking current pricing for mine.

These guys know delivery times for WM, RK, GM and others and are sitting there waiting for it to be placed on the shelves to sell this coming weekend. Far different than those that stocked up and may sell some to others in need.

I have heard that many are retired guys that are making untraceable income. They do similar with bourbon, find the hard to get bottles and sell them on CL. I have heard an ambitious retired guy can make two to five hundred a week flipping high demand items. Good for them some might say but they are not providing any value to anyone.

i have read that this is exactly how they intend to do away with guns. They know they can't get all the guns, but if they can control the ammo, that's another story. Eventually they restrict all ammo sales, and drive the price sky high (as they are now), and make it impossible to obtain the ammo. "They" think that if they take away the ammo, the take away the problem.

Of course they don't take into account re-loaders, but they will figure out a way to restrict that too.
