Yes. Recent moves away from coal fired generation have resulted in a shut-down of a plant that was on Apache reservation land, provided jobs for many tribal members and used coal also mined on the reservation which provided more jobs

Not sure how that meshes with all the concern for indigenous peoples, I guess we just increase their gov't transfer payments - **** the dignity of work

Oh wait, the .gov isn't keeping it's word to a tribe? Or changed it's mind on something and now the tribe is negatively affected??? Shocking! (purple implied)
Is there a stronger word we can use for this guy besides despicable?
The only applicable term that comes to mind currently is traitor...

If you are trying to become a comedian please pursue another line of work. You are expressing your opinion and others here are rejecting it. It's called the real world, only in utopia do you not have to deal with it (that is my opinion).
I think trying to convince this crew that the world is fine after the 5 years of Bravo Sierra we have just went through is way to little way to soon

I didn't live in Indiana for the majority of the Obama administration, but out on the east coast I consistently paid over $5 a gallon for many years. A friend out there tells me they are finally paying under $3, so not too far off from us here. I'm sure that'll change.
Kali formia was at over $5 at a time as well...

You happen to be out of touch with the reason that you are blessed with electricity that is "vastly cheaper". If you think that will remain when coal, oil and natural gas are removed from the equation, then you are wildly mistaken. Wind and Solar output and control dont even come close to matching Nuclear, Coal, and Natural gas power plants. When those fossil fuels are removed from the equation the grid is going to get very sketchy and costly, what do you think it does to the grid when everyone decides its time to recharge those Teslas? Renewable energy doesn't have the storage or control for that kind of demand. Take a look at Commiefornia, wont it be nice when the government has to schedule your electric usage for you, and it cost 3 times more?

Just my opinion, gained from a career in electric production. :twocents:

Also the cost of your Tesla will definitely increase when the steel production is affected, you know because of coal.
Tesla recharging will happen in off peak hours mostly.

Storage is an up and coming technology.

Flywheels and batteries are already being deployed to help maintain frequency control.

IPL has deployed battery power already.

    DER is the future.

Bow down to the oracle, he listened to a left wing NPR story and knows why he is talking about.

    Not...
Just like some do to radical positions. When it comes to this subject he had shown more knowledge than you have so far.

During that administration the pump would stop at $99 and I had to pay and start again to fill my Suburban's 24 gallon tank.

Edit: Under the Trump administration I typically spent under $50 to fill the same tank. You all can do the rest of the math.
i was filling 40 gallon tank 6.5 turbo burb with diesel in those days.... :n00b:

So what about cold fronts, heatwave's, federal holidays, or equipment failures?

Renewables lack capacity and consistency thus requiring storage.

Storage will never be cheaper than generation, it's place is to be a stop gap and demand buffer. It merely buys time so you can start the sun back up.
    Because it's just that easy.

You guys would argue all day long for steam engines in the face of internal combustion. Unable to see the future for the present
