I miss the 5 speed stick 4WD two door Explorer. Won't never be another.
You can get a Bronco with a manual transmission, but only with the 4 cylinder motor. It’s a 7 speed (6 really, plus a crawler gear.)

With a granny gear, one could have a magnificent low-speed chase.

I reserved mine. As of now I'm down for the two door base 2.3 with the 7 speed manual trans. Plus, COBB has already confirmed they will be supporting the platform... so I'm sold! I'll be opting for the Sasquatch package as well.

^A little click-baity (because Scotty Kilmer), but the delay is understandable. It's basically impossible to get a new product launched right now. Nobody wants to pay to have their tooling cut in the US, if you can even buy the metal, and the Chinese have been hit tons harder by the tariffs and the virus than the media would have you believe. This has basically ground supply chains down to a halt.

Then there are the shipping delays...

I think the CCP has put all of their effort into manufacturing consumer goods to keep up appearances. The industrial side is basically non-existent. At least that's what I've seen.

We had dozens of tools built in China for the new Bronco. There were a few weeks early on in whole 'Rona mess that things slowed down with our Chinese suppliers, but really it was barely a blip. Mid 'Rona, our Chinese suppliers were all dead in the water begging for work. Currently, they are all busy as hell.

Over the next few weeks we are having about 25 tools delivered, including three over 27,000 pounds. Arranging shipping has been the biggest challenge lately.

And for the first time all year, our shop is loaded with tools we are actually building here.

^^^^^Same with our work. Shipping is totally jacked up right now. It takes 3 weeks to get an air shipment off. Used to take a couple days.

The delay with the Bronco is the roof system. One of my customers builds the roof. They have been behind from before rona. It is a cluster. I'm actually glad that the parts we quoted were switched to metal. :)

    Well, I'll be dipped...

Wouldn't be the first time my window to the world was frosted over. I guess I'll blame what I'm seeing on the total ineptitude of my employer, which is probably just as likely in the end.

I held off buying a new vehicle for ~12 months while I waited for the regularly delayed launch. I put in for a day 1 reservation. 4 door Wildtrak. After the interior reveal, hardtop change, more delays, etc. etc., I finally just said F it and pulled the trigger on something else (not that Ford cares, because I bought a 2020 F150).

I love everything about this, but the continued delays killed me. Then the interior and adjustments to the WildTrak turned me off entirely.

I won't regret not buying a first year Bronco, and may end up with one at some point....but the F150 fits my needs a bit more anyway (just takes up a bit more room than I'd prefer in my garage).

As for delays. Appreciate everyone's transparency, and confirming what a lot of people were thinking. Easy to blame Covid for everything this year, but the Bronco launch was a S***SHOW well before.

They'll still sell a ton of them.

I think it just depends on who your customers are and who your Chinese suppliers are. Some are busy, some are just dead in the water. Seems to be how it is anymore.

The ChiComs are our enemies. We should be doing ZERO "business" with them, we are funding our own demise. Paying to become slaves...waiting for the ultimate communist outcome of starvation and genocide.

If my company did ZERO business with them we'd be OUT of business.

I don't like it. But that's how it is. And at least in my business, you can thanks the big three automakers for it being that way. And that goes double for GM.

Cannot get sasquatch with the 2.3 or manual. Must be with v6 and auto. Once all the hoopla dies down a base manual 2dr is what I want.

Yup. As much as I'd like everything made in America and for us to quit doing business with China, we would not win programs if we did that.

And adding the additional 25% in tariffs didn't offset the cost differential. It just made the prices go up which ultimately will be passed on to us.

That said, recently we contracted some tools in Canada instead of China. The pricing this time came a little under our China quotes. And we don't have to deal with the time difference and shipping woes.:rockwoot:

Most U.S. tool shops are either overloaded with business creating very long lead times or their prices are still too high. Or both.

If people wanted to stop supporting China, you could always stop ordering cheap **** from Amazon.
