    Not to start anything, but.
What I remember from the old days was there was a couple of cliques headed up by different mods. If you said anything against the clique / mod then you were bullied. Then when you stood up for yourself it was a dogpile led by the mod staff until you were banned.

Being on the receiving end of a neg-rep dog pile...those were fun times.

Apart from the members, it was also moderated differently back then. Seemed like there was a "good old boys" vibe going on with some of the members and staff. Definitely not that way anymore.

There was also a lot of anti female modding going on. Ran off a lot of decent members. That management is no longer.

I mostly stopped posting for a while (read, 2-3 years) as life got busy, and the partisan politics of this site versus that site just got to making it not very much fun anymore to be on any of the gun forums. I prefer to keep the majority of what I post to be useful and informative, and try to stay out of the drama that some people are all too ready to bathe in (and I am NOT calling any particular person or side out here, plenty to go around). I was around from the early days as well, and knew full well that if I left, within a week few would remember and fewer would care. That's just the way of things, it doesn't bother me as the few real life friends I made here are people I still keep in contact with. I've been doing this since the USENET days and learned all about flamewars and baiting and trolling and the like back then. Kids these days keep thinking they are reinventing the wheel...

Back in the Pami/Scutter/Lars days. I’m under no delusions that I could leave the site forever and nobody would care. Some people get caught up I guess. We haven’t had a good “I’m leaving this stupid place” thread in a while!
Spasmo and bill of rights were good folks.

Oh yeah. In fact, it was 88GT that gave me the final rep points that put me back in the green. :)

It was in grape juice. I was "NEGATIVE REPPED INTO OBLIVION" BOR turned it around when I wrote a PM telling him I was leaving and to cancel my account.

This is true. I don’t remember the details of any of it, but I do remember things being as you said. That was very early on, as I recall. I never had problems with anybody here, although some of the old time mods did seem very blustery, and god help you if you got on the wrong side of the wrong person.

I have been getting schooled on this all day from some of the older members.
I came in Dec 2011. Really paid no attention to the politics of dancing.
Looks like a lot of crazy stuff back then.

But that was then. This is now. If it is not obvious the site is different then :dunno: what else we can do here.

CM knows how I feel. This post isnt for him.
I've never really discussed this openly on the forum mostly out of respect for the mods for allowing me to be back. I play by their rules because it's their house. Something I fought before.
I feel just as wronged as some of the people coming back into this thread after being gone for a number of years.
But looking back I also take ownership of my own mistakes and actions back then.
I came back in peace and not to stir the pot. It's taken me a while to get over some things but I'm over them. I've moved on. Ingo has moved on. Ingo is so much better now than it was. This is a good place to be. I miss some of you guys that I've seen come back but if the reason for coming back is in any ways to celebrate the misfortune and I believe FALSE arrest of a member of ingo then your reasons are wrong imo. Once again, my opinion. And I understand. Me and that member had history too long ago but have moved on and the past is the past. I actually have great respect for him now and am appreciative for what he does and how he has also I believe grown and become a better person even. No one has to agree with me. No one has to like what I'm saying but these are my words and I'm saying them because I feel it needs Said. I dont need to do any butt kissing, I'm back, have been back since 2010, and they have known it. I've been open to the staff about who I was. I'd rather not have to say any of this because I dont like the drama of it. But I do not think it's right to dance on someone's pain. A real person is in pain right now. A real family is in pain right now. Instead of jokes and sticking a knife in someone's back I think we should be rallying around them as a community and if you dont feel you want to be a part of that rally, that is fine, but I ask as a fellow human, a fellow gun owner, a former, or current friend, just please withdrawal yourself from the issue if you have nothing positive to add or support to give. This person needs our support and I for one intend to give it however I can. The past is the past and I've been done RIGHT for many years now. Straight talk. No bs.

Also, please, to be Frank, get off Churchmouses back. He is my friend for one. 2, he has changed this site and made is so much better and brought people together. He takes so much crap and he wasnt even around for all of the shenanigans on either side of that coin people.
Like I said, I'll own my own mistakes. But I've tried to be a better person here and a better member.
This site would not run without churchmouse. He deserves thanks and respect, not bitterness or anything like it. He is not your enemy I promise. I've seen that man turn the other cheek so many times for people to try to let them stay. When even I myself wouldn't have. But CM sees the good in people and you know what? A lot of those people end up staying and changing their attitudes and becoming GREAT members and even his friends. He buys people who disagree with him cheeseburgers for goodness sakes. He has helped so many people here in real life and never asked for nothing back.
Please, show some kindness and respect to my friend.
Ok. I got it off my chest
CM if I said anything that needs edited, do your thing. Not trying to start a crap show.

Take care people and I hope some of you take CM's invitation and come back and stay. It would be cool to chat with a lot of you again.

He also posted in the open that he didn't believe I had done anything wrong and told them to leave me alone. After that I had no problems. At that time I spent all of my time in fire arms and do not remember the drama.

Of course it may be senility.

I was here back in the frontier days and partook in some of the roughhousing as it were and I can honestly say this is a different time and a different place. I'll give credit to people like CM that have put in the effort and cared enough to foster the change. I've grown past all of that. It's time to let go of all the bitterness. It's time.

Used to be alot of So and So can do no wrong as well. Members getting banned for speaking out or doing as other "favorites" would do.

People getting thrown under the bus for having an opinion, as previously mentioned: neg rep dog piles, eliteism, mod led dog piles, mod shills stirring the pot to ban people, and a lot of two facery.

    Is facery a word?

Just to let everyone that cares know, After a lot of discussions today with people I trust and respect, getting a history lesson, I rescinded the OP's ban. He and I have exchanged PM's and good to go.

TT, you got me blushing. I need to pet a Unicorn.

I have not seen any of it. All the mod staff we have now are pretty fair.. except that BT guy, You'd think someone who drove a fuel truck would give his forum buddies some gas

Come on man. It was $1.09 last week. Besides that, if I get caught it's felony tax evasion. I like you guys, but not to the point where I'm scared to pick up the soap......
