My idea of a good time.
I get plenty of meat, so no great attraction there anyway.
I am really looking forward to some fun cheeses and breads that will make me unhappy with my American bread.
Going to the German Bakery on Pendleton Exit off E465 is always a pleasure b/c they do have some decent breads/rolls.
Sometimes I take a loaf home for toasting and buttering.
I'd buy their rolls and eat them like donuts (my idea of eating healthy :dunno:).

Heidelberg Haus! I haven't been in there for years. They also have some dessert baked goods that are to die for. It's a good place to go if you're a beer stein collector too. :)

My last "cruise" cost me years of my life.
    :)

I'm waiting for the story. :coffee:

It can't be any worse than what I thought of:
    a. you fell overboard and went into a coma, and revived years later
    b. met a woman, fell in love, but it didn't work out in the long run and you wish you'd never met her
    c. "cruise" means not a literal cruise in the ocean, so I'm drawing a blank. :dunno:

I took a 3 week trip to Italy with my wife a few years back. Florence and cinque terra were our favorite spots (with the latter being the best). Bologna was also very nice (close to Pisa)

it was the best trip I took. I loved everything about Italy (even though I was there with my inlaws). Have fun. Drink wine.

my favorite story was a fancy meal out where we told the waiter to surprise us which we then includes a 700 euro meal with no menus and trays and trays and trays and trays of food.

3 weeks! :wow: You certainly know how to treat a woman!
That's what my wife had in mind, but she seems to be OK with this "Italy 101" approach.
It will be interesting to see whether she wants to go back for a more "comprehensive" visit.
I'd like to go to other places.
I was interested in doing a comprehensive Mediterranean cruise (had a friend do that with his wife awhile back).

And not even a porthole to enjoy the view during the cruise. :noway:

In the front of the sail, just above the planes, is a window.
When submerged, water is on both sides of the window, so there is no pressure.
That's actually my watchstation going in and out of port. JA phone talker, doghouse.

Be ready to wear a tactical fanny pack, the pickpockets in Europe are insane. And the cops won't do anything to the "refugees" robbing tourists.

Get copies of your birth certificate and passport, backup your phone before you leave home, and write down a list of phone# and address of U.S. Embassies and Consulate General offices in the countries you are visiting.

On the topic of pickpockets, I usually wear an Eddie Bauer travel blazer when we go to Europe. It looks decent, is waterproof if you get caught in a sudden rain, and has zippered pockets on the inside. I use a front pocket wallet and keep my hand in my pocket in crowds, on the subway, etc. I keep anything else zipped inside my pocket. Don't look like a victim, if they see you see them they are more likely to pick an easier target. In Paris I had a middle aged guy paying way too much attention to me and I overtly paid a lot of attention to him in return. He peeled off. I never had any problems in Spain or Italy.

And they are on sale at the moment!

Great for travel, passports fit in the inside zippered pocket easily and don't make a bulge, it doesn't wrinkle, and the aforementioned weatherproofing. Yeah, the material and the zipper mean it's more sportswear and less dressy, but I really really like mine.

Just a word of warning, you won’t be able to sell this without taking a loss.;)look into that blazer BBI linked, or the ScottEvest version, which is more than double the price, but it does have RFID blocking pockets as well.

Ill expect a full powerpoint presentation when you get back. Have fun
    I so deserve that!

    :blahblah::blahblah::blahblah::blahblah::blahblah: is my default position.
I was talking to a staff member today at Church who just got back from a trip to Israel with a group, and he said all the info was overwhelming.
He and his wife are coming over with other couples to our house tomorrow evening and instead of having our usual Bible study on Monday evening we are just going to have him & his wife talk about their experiences traveling in Israel and visiting many of the sites talked about in the Bible and news of discoveries archaeologically that are not even published yet of things referenced in the OT & NT.
A great bit of history, even if a person is not a believer, but he said it was really moving to be on beach of the Sea of Galilee where Jesus did various things during his ministry, and visiting the Mount where He was to have delivered the famous discourse: Sermon on the Mount.
Really looking forward to hearing their experiences and feelings about it all.
I'm sure it will more interesting to me than my report on Italy.
