The alloy frame makes huge difference in weight. All stainless Sigs are pigs! On the other hand, that extra weight makes them a pleasure to shoot.

Oh yes, my friend ..... there's always a trade-off. In my case, I don't have any handguns that are designated as 'range toys'. I want to carry everything that I own !
This Sig will spend much more time being carried, than shot ..... so the trade-off is in my favor. :)

Suspenders do help, although I don't wear them, plenty of those I work with do. Helps take the weight off the belt and really helps lower back issues.

Thanks all. Looks like Greg Cote has the best prices, and good word of mouth. I saved the other site as well (sorry can't remember the name and on my tablet hard to flip back and forth). Now to get my Sig running with 15 instead of the original 13. Makes math easier too, hahaha

If you are talking about CDNN, that is one of those places you want to get on their mailing list and watch for sales. They have some crazy good sales every now and then. I scored some used Sig mags for like $15/each a year or two ago.

I need to sell mine! It's probably the most accurate centerfire pistol I own, but I don't shoot it anymore.

well. maybe if you didn't have to buy industrial size boxes of band aids, you could afford more ammo, and you could shoot your sig more!

    Woah there, slow down.

You have a Sig 226 Tacops and you say "It's probably the most accurate centerfire pistol I own" but you DON'T SHOOT IT?

That's like owning the best hunting dog in the country and not hunting.
Or having a room filled with beef jerky and not eating any.
Finding you have the winning lottery ticket and not cashing it.
Buying a truck of fireworks and not lighting any.
Marrying the hottest woman in the world but not having any sex.

.....well the last one doesn't count because...... welcome to marriage but you see what I'm getting at, right?
Is it too pretty to get dirty? Too collectable? You've already got 2 of them? Not sharp enough?

    Full disclosure -
I had a Colt Officers 45 that I had with me out west. Couldn't "Legally" carry there but I had it with me regardless in other ways. I had bought it new, shot it once took it straight to my smith and poured a bunch of $ at it to make it the most reliable carry gun I had. Still chopped and bobbed but everything rounded and all new custom controls, Magnaported and everything you could ever want. Kindof a Race/Carry gun. Very nice.

By the time I came to IN and I could carry legally, that Colt was all I had (marriage/divorce killed my collection) but when I started to carry it, I noticed myself treating it like glass. I was very careful not to knock it going through doorways or on knobs and kept it protected way too much and that it was very distracting.

I did it to myself. It was worth way too much money to get all dinged up and have holster wear on it.... so I sold it to buy a few carry guns that I don't care about getting tarnished or dinged or scraped up because they started ugly in the first place. My thrasher guns I call them.
    Yep. I bought some Glocks.

If I had carried that Colt and put wear on it, I wouldn't have gotten the same money I did when I sold it at that time. I did good.
Recently I bought a few Sigs just to carry and replace my old Glock platform. Playing around with some new holsters as we speak. :draw:

You make a strong point, sir.

I think you completely misunderstand. When I've shot it, I shot the hell out of it. It's hit concrete (I fell on an indoor range) and gravel (it ran dry and I did a New York reload).

I don't shoot it much anymore because it takes me too long to fire the first shot double action with reasonable accuracy. I can barely reach the trigger even though it's a short reach trigger and I replaced the original grips with an E2 grip. The SAO gun is a lot easier to me to shoot well with my stubby raccoon hands and fingers. Based on my observations, the specific Tac Ops I have is mechanically more accurate than the SAO I have, but since it takes too much time and effort to fire that first shot, it doesn't matter, especially since you probably couldn't measure a difference under 15 yards.
