Why would an INGO advertiser recommend to buy from Amazon instead of another fellow INGO advertiser? :dunno:

Maybe he doesn't like me? :dunno:

Unnecessary Roughness! 15yd penalty, repeat 1st down.

    Ref is blind...needs glasses! :p

    LOL.

I'd still like to know the answer to my question though....

    See my original answer.

I would like to know how the CRKT M16 holds an edge?

They don't compared to knives that use better steel............... people that have never owned better, don't know better. :D

    With it's tiny little hands.

Wait! Were we talking about me?

In addition, a lot of people don't know what "sharp" is. Some consider tearing thick paper to be sharp. Others call it sharp when you can scrape coarse arm hair. Others think the edge ought to tree-top down-fine arm hair and push-cut toilet paper.

I got fleeced? Hardly. I have several Spydercos that have been bought from several places. The only other knife I carry is a Boker Kalashnikov 74 auto with s30v steel I bought at BladeOps for $69.00. Feel free to tell me it's a fake too. :) Speaking of knock offs, ALL 1911's made today are just that, a knock off or a clone, or what ever term you prefer. I have never seen a Browning 1911, high powers yes, but no 1911.

Because you did get fleeced there was never an Orange Para 2 made with S30v steel. The orange Para 2 was a Cutlery Shoppe exclusive knife that sold originally for over $200. And the orange para 2 featured CTS XHP steel and not S30v as well. You got fleeced I am 100% positive.

Also Browning only designed the 1911, Browning firearms has not nor will they ever manufacture a 1911 handgun. The design was licensed to Colt Manufacturing.

Please do a little bit of research.

OMG. Just got back to this 3 ring circus.

I bought the dang thing from you Brad! (Well, ok, really from Sheila, and she gave me a heck of a deal, so you probably didn't make anything on it). And if your website features the M16, my apologies as I didn't know!

lm - because I was trying to make a point. (Put your arms around it, it's ok.)

And yes, DC, it does hold a very nice edge, thank you very much. However, Brad is right. I'm a knife noob and haven't owned better.

    Are we clear here? Good!

YES, I know. I also know that design changed 20 years later to the 1911A1 and you should know why. Please feel free to believe what ever you want. I'm happy with what I got, a Spyderco C81 from a very good dealer with good steel. :)

Yes and unless that dealer was Cutlery Shoppe it was either a reseller or more than likely a fake, please post pictures of the knife and box. I would love the chance to critique the Chinese copies.

I have a genuine Stradivarius I'd let go for $2500 if you're interested. I also have several bridges available.

I EDC'd a CRKT M16 for about 7 years. This was before I had anything nicer as well. It's not a bad knife, but it's certainly not a good knife. I also thought it was great at the time. I've since found nicer things that do a better job for the same price. Outside of the steel discussion, I'd never recommend it. The liner lock was pretty janky, and I never really trusted it. There's just better to be had for the same price.

Those CRKT M16's use 8cr13mov steel. It's not terrible stuff. In fact, it's the same stuff Kershaw uses in their cheap Chinese made low tier knives. However, I certainly would not say it "holds an edge really well." Especially when someone's looking to spend $80 on a knife. There's stuff out there for $80 that will walk circles around 8cr13mov.

Personally, if I'm buying a cheap knife these days ($40 range), it's Kershaw's USA made knives with Sandvik 14c28n. It's a heck of a lot nicer and a large upgrade from 8cr13mov.

Now, when someone comes asking about spending more than $40 (in this case $80), you look like you don't know what you're talking about if you're recommending something with 8cr13mov. $80 gets you into s30v territory. Since you've never used the stuff (I have), you don't know. Something in the "premium steel" category really does perform that much better. It makes 8cr13mov look like junk.

:rockwoot:please tell me this is not going to be a thing from now on lol?

I think you already know the answer to that.

my auto spell doesn't like the word "Crailed" :dunno:

Well, since it's now going to be standard term for the Cutting Edge forum on INGO, we're all going to have to teach it to our spell checkers.

    Are we clear here? Good!

    I declare it clear!

The point is, what you got is not a real Spyderco.
