I was just watching On the Record tonight with Greta Van Crooked Face and was listning to the head of the ATF say that 90-95% of the weapons recovered in Juarez have been traced back to the U.S. If you think that we are safe from another ban you might want to rethink your position. This is the perfect fire that the libs need to advance their agenda.

I still have yet to see a "straw purchase" as described by Clinton. I'm not saying it's never happened, but why would mexican drug cartels do it considering they have lots of money to afford grenade launchers. I think they can afford to buy their guns elsewhere too.

This won't achieve Obama's stated goal (duh).

    Notice what they DIDN'T say...

The didn't say they were traced back to US retail purchases.

The Mexican government got the guns from US manufacturers who sold them to the Mexican government. The drug runners either stole them or the were gotton by corrupt government officials.

I'm afraid the Obamanation administration is going to use the whole Mexico mess as the start of a sustained attempt at another AWB. Holder already started it, and Hillary has been blowing more hot air about it in recent days.

I don't have any facts and figures, but it has got to be cheaper in the long run to build a huge damn wall between the US and Mexico than it is to waste all the resources we currently expend in our fruitless attempt to seal the border.

Heard on the news that the Mexican gov't is refusing to release the serial #'s of the guns siezed from the drug-runners, so the BATFE is pulling these statistics out of their bunghole.

    So not surprised.

Anyone know what percentage of these "assault rifles" were fully-auto. Obviously those didn't come from US retailers. I have hard time thinking Mexican gangsters are buying cases of AK47s from Jim Bob's gun shop in southern texas....

It appears that only a fraction of the recovered guns in Mexico are "traceable". This means that only about 10% recovered weapons can be traced back to the U.S. I have a feeling a great deception is at play here. I was talking to Ed at KS&E a couple weeks ago about this and he says that most of the weapons he sees being used by drug cartels are military grade and nothing you can get here.

The administration will try to do an end run by including something in a treaty between the US and Mexico. This has the same force of law as passing something in Congress. It may still be un-constitutional but would have to go to court to prove it.

I wonder what gun show they are buying their fully automatic AKs, M16s, and Uzis??? Also what show is selling them the grenades, rocket and morter tubes???

If our government tells a lie long enough it becomes the truth. Unfortunately with obama-messiah telling a lie once is good enough to prove it true by our new media.

When I was in El Paso in'98,the local newspapers had several stories of Americans legally crossing into Mexico, and were arrested and thrown into their hellhole prison for having 1(one) round of ammunition! I was only there 4 days and read about 2 or 3 times the Mexicans would THOUROLY search their car or truck and find even a spent case and BAM. If the Mexican police can find 1 spent case, why can't they find thousands of AK's or AR's? If we had a secure border, less drugs and aliens going North, less guns and ammo going South. I think most cartel weapons come from Mexican military.

Why don't they just pass a law that makes selling them to people that will send them south of the border illegal? Wait!!! That would only impose the limitation on a small number of people and is most likely already an existing restriction.

I believe that I have a solution that will take care of all our firearm woes....

I think we need to ban ink pens. After all, if we had no ink pens to fill out the transfer paperwork, then no one could get any weapon in the first place. Then the problem would magically take care of itself.

I know that this solution might seem absurd, but I know that some schools ban the open carry of pencils in their hallways. When was the last time you heard of a pencil murder in a school hallway? This law would work.

We should start calling semi-automatics "Self loaders" like they do in Germany, then the libs can't emphasize the "automatic" part
