Once we have control of Congress, the WH (and with it, the AG), there will be so much from these 4 disgraceful years upon which Congress can, and must, bring charges against Obama, Holder, and several others in this clan. Congress will be remiss in its duty if it does not. We will see the 1st former POTUS in a federal prison for his crimes while in office.

I'm going to get blasted for this, but on the surface I agree with Obama here. Newt was right about this too. Now I don't know the details, and that's usually where I find myself in total disagreement. However in the overall principle, if conservatives start deciding to deport people who've lived here and thought they were legal citizens their entire lives solely on the fact that their parents never did the citizenship paperwork on them when they were infants (I have two friends that this happened to) then conservatives are going to find themselves on the wrong side of history on this issue. This is one thing were a reasonable bipartisan answer can be reached and should be.

    Yes.

The next shoe to drop will be when one of the Liberal news organs writes the editorial stating that it is "unfair" these new "citizens in everything but name" should not be "disenfranchised" from participating in the November election.

Yes, the reasonable bipartisan solution is let them apply through legal channels to become residents/citizens. What's so unreasonable about that???

Why do we continue to infantilze these illegal aliens, pretending that somehow the laws are unfair to them, when so many other immigrants FOLLOW THE LAW?

Hold them responsible for their parents actions? No, but why should they benefit from other people breaking the law? Should bank robbers' kids, who did not know what their folks were up to, get to keep the money?

Sometimes it's right to be on the wrong side.

I do not have a problem with providing a path to citizenship for those people who meet certain requirements and who have no control over what was done to them due to their young age. I just want to know who is in this country and why they are here and do not want them to be sucking up the federal programs that I have paid into for such a long time without contributing to it themselves for a minimum amount of time. I do not think drug addicts and alcoholics should get social security disability check either.

What's unreasonable is they are currently being deported while applying through the legal channels. Is it their fault they were brought here as children?

I too would be ok with providing a legal way for people to become citizens as long as they meet the requirements. I do have a problem though of just saying we are not going to go after them and ignore the laws in place. Don't like the law change it. Oh wait that is to hard for the current administration to understand.

Also what is this junk about people being able to stay as long as the are not felons or have other convictions. Last time I checked it was illegal to be in the USA with out permission. Is that not a crime? We need to close the borders and come up with real solution to handle the people who are already here. Kick those out who are causing problems and give the option to be come a citizen to those who have been here for many many years, they would need to prove it.

never going to happen. It's in no one (in power) best interest to resolve this "issue". The Ds can continue to use this against the Rs and show "the people" that the Rs don't care and thus get the latino vote. All the while continuing to expand .gov to "help" these non-citizens.

The Rs don't want to help since big biz can continue to "use" they people who for the most part will keep quiet and work, work, work without every having to worry about paying into the system for them. So they get to pocket the money (biz do).

Until they figure out a way to make money out of a new system neither Ds or Rs would like to see this "issue" go away. It brings in good money now just the way it is and keeps "the people" divided and distracted just like they would like us to be.

The parents KNEW what they were doing when they brought the "innocent victims" into this country. This is a mess the parents should clean up back in their own country. It's cruel but I don't care! Actions like this are an HIV ladened hocker in the face of every immigrant that came to this country legally, including those in my own family jumped through the hoops to become legal citizens and if you ask them they aren't ( ) American, they are American!:xmad:

"In a major policy shift, the Obama administration will stop deporting & grant work permits to some law-abiding illegal immigrants who came to the US as children."

Couldn't help but chuckle at that phrasing- "Law-abiding illegal immigrants.":):

I wonder what the unions are going to think about this illegal labor entering the work force?

There are supposed to be 800 thousand + in this group. I'm betting they aren't reported in the stats as unemployed. Sheriff Joe says he's still going to arrest them. I do feel sorry for the kids caught in the middle here. They didn't ask to be here and they probably do feel more American. If an intelligent way was created through Congress for them to become citizens I might--might--support it. But this is just another slap in the face to the Constitutional way this country is supposed to be run.

Finally, are people still thinking there's going to be an election? Everyday, Obama's actions indicate he's not too worried. I still stand by my prediction that he is going to find away to suspend the elections in November.

Now I've found the details and as I anticipated, I'm in total disagreement. First of all this was voted down by Congress, rendering Obama's enacting of it today illegal. Second,t he criteria is that anyone who is under 30 can claim to have been here in excess of 15 years and gets in to this program. This means undocumented people have to further undocument their long term residency here and they get amnesty. We still have to do something reasonable about children who were brought here and did not come of their own will and know no other environment, but it has to be reasonable and this order by Obama isn't.

800,000 illegals will be immune from deportation?

White House to halt deportation of young illegal immigrants | The Ticket - Yahoo! News

I would assume that these are all registered voters and have already "voted" the ACORN way for Obummer.

    The Dream Act

We could just make it easier to come here lawfully. Like it was before LBJ and the unions made so difficult. For one thing we need to have more Europeans immigrate.

As for Mexicans, as long as they are high school grads, are not sick and can at least read and write Spanish (80% of Mexicans can not even read their own language which makes it fun when stores put signs that they can not read even in Spanish) but preferred if they could read and write English of course and have no criminal history. In other words like it was in the late 1800s.

But long term we are going to have to send our military down to Mexico to annex the place. It is a failed state and screwed. Plus we could use all of that beach front property. And the oil does not hurt either.
