    Evan Bayh

Evan Bayh chose not to run even though his re - electiong was almost assured. This leads me to believe that the has another agenda that he was making time for. I suspect that agenda is challenging Obama in the primary. I really hope so because if he and Hilary challenge Obama that is the best chance of getting Obama out. I may be totally off base about his intentions but it really will not surprise me if he runs against Obama.

Can the regular liberal Democrats take their party back over from the lunatic fringe that is now in charge though?

I don't see any change come next year or 2013. It's only going to get worse. No matter who gets voted in. I've yet to see one person worth voting for win a primary. I seen a few run DURING the primaries, but they didn't win, and so now, for some stupid reason, they can't run in the general election. Dunno why or where the code is that says they can't, but I guess they can't.

And it's a good question. What if the majority of the People WANT Socialism? What if they WANT to be spoonfed and taken care of? What if they WANT government to rule their life? What if they WANT to scrape the Constitution and take on a King instead?

    Then what?

    We aren't a democracy.

You're right. No, We're not. So then explain to me how elected officials can get away with taking money, bribing and being bribed, ignoring 80% of the population when they say they don't want something, breaking multiple laws (most of which end up as Theft), government agencies make up their own laws as they go, and all of them get away with it year after year after year after year?

No King, Socialist Dick Tator :xmad:

MSM talking about Mitt Romney or Newt Gingrich as the chosen Republican Presidential Candidates. Please, nothing more than Obama Lite. Lugar, Graham, McCain are selling US OUT (among others). I cannot see anything good happening soon without major CHANGE. THEY will soon outnumber us and with the instant addition of 12 to 20 Million Democrat free loading zombies we may not ever have a chance

    We aren't a democracy.

We soon will be. More and more states have passed or are considering laws requiring their electoral college voters to cast their votes in accordance with the results of the national popular vote. This means that even if the voters in such a state vote for Candidate A, if Candidate B wins the popular vote the electors will be required to vote for Candidate B.

Not only does this make the actual act of casting a vote meaningless for a state's citizens, it will strip less populous states of their voice. If nothing else causes a ruckus before then, this is the thing that surely will, because without the electoral system, less populous states are at the whim and mercy of only a couple states on the seaboards. They will have no real voice in the Presidential elections, they will have been effectively disenfranchised. There can be only one result from such a state of affairs.

I'm not so sure that this country is a Republic anymore, either.

More of a government sanctioned oligopoly.

Obligarchy I believe is the correct term. (just probably not correct spelling. ;) )

And yes, It's not much of a Republic anymore either. Sure, it has the veil of one, but it's truly not. I would call it a shadow government, but it's not even that anymore. We all know who REALLY runs this Country, but we can't prove it in the eyes of the public.

No King, Socialist Dick Tator :xmad:

This. But is there a difference? King, Dicktater, same difference. We have more of an appointed King and Parliament than anything.

With all those living off government, they already DO outnumber us. As far as votes are concerned. Of those that actually voted, we're the minority now. Most of those like us just refuse to vote. Some of us who do vote fall right into the trap every time by voting for the lesser of two evils. I'm guilty. I know many of us are.

What really ticks me to no end is that 70% of this Country can stay at home on election day and the election isn't considered a fraud. In any other Country, a 40% turnout would be considered a joke.

The American Spectator : America's Ruling Class -- And the Perils of Revolution

    http://spectator.org/archives/2010/07/16/americas-ruling-class-and-the/print

    https://www.indianagunowners.com/fo...s_of_revolution_-_the_american_spectator.html

    The Classes Clash

The ruling class's appetite for deference, power, and perks grows. The country class disrespects its rulers, wants to curtail their power and reduce their perks. The ruling class wears on its sleeve the view that the rest of Americans are racist, greedy, and above all stupid. The country class is ever more convinced that our rulers are corrupt, malevolent, and inept. The rulers want the ruled to shut up and obey. The ruled want self-governance. The clash between the two is about which side's vision of itself and of the other is right and which is wrong. Because each side -- especially the ruling class -- embodies its views on the issues, concessions by one side to another on any issue tend to discredit that side's view of itself. One side or the other will prevail. The clash is as sure and momentous as its outcome is unpredictable.

When those who influence Business and Commerce in this country begin to take notice of the ugly mood of the "average" person, it's time to prepare for unrest.
The Colonists knew that Revolution was inevitable when businessmen of the day, like Paul Revere, (Silversmith), Ben Franklin, (Publisher) and Thomas Paine, (Manufacturer), began to decry the Political situation of the Colonies.
The last thing that we need is a second Revolution, but if the Country stays on the course that it is now following I'm afraid we may find ourselves forced to decide between our freedoms, or submitting to a "Nanny State" where where our actions are directed from cradle to grave by a Socialist Government.
    Just my :twocents:
    Mike

If that's the last thing that stands between us and the nanny state enslavement, I'd say it's the very first thing we need.
