    If I'm right about the date, then some American could have listened to the news about the Doolittle Raid and went to work the next morning and made that receiver. That's fairly epic.

    Well, I completely forgot I started this thread :)

    Well, last night I picked up a pristine SA Bolt and Trigger group.
    Also just ordered an english walnut stock from Wenig Custom Gunstocks - Home. When I receive it in a few weeks, I will get some pictures up. Next step is going to be to get a barrel. The gentleman who is guiding me through this process has me talked into one of these: M1 Garand G.I. Contour Barrel.

    This will be a completely american sourced and built rifle.

    I love this idea. Are you doing all the work (finishing the stock) yourself? Are all of the parts going to be new or refurbished? I am interested in how this turns our regardless. Thanks for posting your progress.
