Im unable to find answers to this question here or online and if its illegal, my bad. Mods delete this thread. But what does Indiana law state about carrying a handgun (with a permit of course) thats not in your name. Like a gunshow gun that didnt come with papers or just a gun you bought from a friend etc.

If by chance an incident happened to occur where it was needed, i would hate for myself or someone else get into trouble because of my lack of knowledge.

    Thanks

A gun is a gun is a gun.

Indiana has no registration. Guns are not "in your name"

    This should answer your question!

Saw coverage of a local trial in the paper last week and the comments section was full of internet geniuses talking about "if the gun properly registered...." or "all they have to do is check who it was registered to...."

People, watching "Law and Order" does not make you an expert in Indiana law.

There is no registration and no database of who owns what gun in Indiana. If you bought a gun from a person who legitimately owned it, it's your gun. No papers necessary.
