Aw, c'mon HM, we all 'know' ALL cops are just JBT's chomping at the bit to face-stomp the innocent citizenry, right?

So the appropriate response to a false bomb threat is for police break down the door and raid a home at 4:00 a.m. because the call "may" have originated from that residence?

According to Wiki Sentinel, OK has a population of 901. That explains why the Police Chief was kicking doors at 0400.
Dallas Horton, 29, of Sentinel, blasted Police Chief Louis Ross three times in the chest and once in the arm as Ross and his team swept through Horton's home early last Thursday. Blasted? What is this, Star Wars?
After breaking down Horton's front door, Ross and deputies from the Wa****a County Sheriff's Office cleared one bedroom before storming into another, Storming?? Who is writing this crap?? Ross and Sheriffs Deputies? Is the police chief the only cop in town?

With a pop of 901, it looks like they've only got another 3-400 doors to kick in before they get the person who's responsible for the 911 shenanigans.

OR...maybe they could do a little more actual investigating first?? Silly thought!

They must have attended the Covering Gun Violence workshop at the Dart Center for Journalism and Trauma funded by Everytown for Gun Safety. Everytown for Gun Safety is Bloomberg's anti-gun group.

I too would like to know how a situation that just culminated in four connecting hits on the police chief himself does not terminate with the swatted homeowner leaving his own home in a body bag.

Yet more justification for building a home with unbreachable doors and windows. Demand of tools of both a swatting criminal and the State give you time to brace for any incursion, and perhaps a word or two in communication prior to the unleashing of lead.

Not outside of the realm of possibility that when the officers took fire they opted to seek cover, training would dictate this to be an appropriate response. Once behind cover it would be possible for the person who shot to state the fact that they did not know it was the police initially at which time a surrender would be negotiated. I know it'll come as a surprise to many, and many more will refuse to believe, but many officers out there have no desire to shoot and kill someone. Particularly if it is under questionable conditions.
