WTS WWII Boys Anti-Tank rifle 50 BMG SOLD
For sale is a British WWII BSA Boys Anti-tank rifle with a 50 BMG barrel made to replace the original .55 caliber barrel that had been demilled to avoid the Destructive Device registration requirement. The new barrel has a slightly different profile to improve accuracy and reduce barrel whip that the original barrels suffered. It is the same 36" length as the original and uses the original front sight and muzzle brake. The barrel is marked with the caliber and serial numbered to the receiver. The receiver was originally made by BSA in Birmingham England in 1939 and at some point was shipped to Finland. The Finns received two shipments of 200 rifles ea as aid against the russians for the Winter war and the Continuation war. This rifle has the Finnish property SA mark on the left side of the receiver as well as the canvas covered buttpad instead of the more common bare rubber. Condition of the rifle is excellent with the original paint covering most of the grip frame and butt assembly in green and the cradle paint in black. The rear sight adjustment works well and so does the adjustable monopod. One magazine has been converted to work with the slightly longer overall length of the US 50 cal cartridge and it holds 5 rds. It works well. The rifle is a great shooter and recoil is a lot lighter than one would expect. My little wife shoots it with no complaints.
price is $4750
Thanks
Frank
