How about when gas was 17 - 19 cents per gallon
during a station gas war and with the
    normal price at 22 - 25 cents,
pumped it, checked your oil and aired your tires.

It was .59/9 when I started driving and when it broke a buck a gallon, I thought the world was going to end! :rolleyesedit:

YUP, 4sarge, I remember 19.9 when I first started "borrowing" my dad's car at night while he was asleep. We had to pump it for the 19.9 cents. 'course you could buy a pack of smokes out of a machine for 25cents. I'd like to have the gas prices back to that. Especially since we're financing a "whatever it is" over in the sandbox.:n00b:

When I started flying, AVGas was $1 per gallon. With the Auto Gas Standard Type Certificate I was able to burn Auto Gas at $0.75/gal. About $0.60 is as low as I can remember.

I had White Castle's for lunch, i'll be producing quite a bit of gas here in about 30 minutes.

White Castles were 10 cents each and when they went to 11 or 12 cents, everyone expected their demise. Taco Bell was cheap, 25 cents each for tacos, Bean Burritos or Beans. Candy bars were 5 cents each, Cokes (Bottle - no cans) were 5 cents each then went to a dime. but we could only afford Cool - Aid. :rolleyesedit:

As I got older we smoked 10 cent Home Made cigars or if feeling spunky Crooks soaked in Rum, cigarettes were 25 cents a pack and beer was 25 cents a bottle, long necks (no cans)

My, how times have changed ;)

Actually if you had saved your 1964 quarters, you could still buy nearly a gallon for each of them, same as what they would buy back then. (okay, sounds like that was before your time, before mine too) Funny how that works. Could it be that the price of gas hasn't really changed? Hmmm... (what Indyjoe said)

I've got some mid 90's gas to sell. Unfortunately, by the late 90's, all the butane and other needed solvents broke down and it is only good for starting fires now. :)
