Local softball field is owned by the school corporation but is leased to the softball organization for the sport. The property is not connected to any land that has school on it. Would it be legal to have a firearm on this property?

Even though it is leased to the softball organization it is still under the schools ownership, therefore making it illegal to have a firearm on the property.

Not to threadjack but say a school field trip goes to a certain private location, say a city park or university. Suddenly that location is now a no go for carry under IC 35-47-9-1?

There is like a million threads on this. If you attend with the field trip it is illegal. If you are visiting and they show up it may be illegal. More so if you are asked to leave and you stay. Nobody has ever been arrested or convicted so far...

Jeez people, just carry a P3AT in a DeSantis pocket holster and keep your damn mouth closed.... Oh and I am not advocating breaking any laws... just sayin...

    Gunner

This. Carry anywhere you want, if there are no metal detectors than who cares, you dont have to OC everytime you carry. Im sure we all would reather have it and not need it than need it and not have it. If you have to use it in a spot where its not legal to carry, well, at least you will be alive to fight your case, and you never know, if you save some lives, maybe you will wake some people up to the nonsense of gun free zones. My :twocents:

How are you not advocating breaking any laws, when you're recomending concealed carry on school property, which would be breaking the law?

Hey, anyone can take any information and use it any way they want to. Are you saying that google.com is advocating breaking the law by having the first link after doing a search for making meth being exact instructions on how to make meth? I think not. Same thing... use information as you will...

Providing Information is one thing. Recommendations are another. You didn't provide information. You made a specific recommendation, the following of which would be a crime.

You can try to backpedal and spin away all you want.. but

Jeez people, just carry a P3AT in a DeSantis pocket holster and keep your damn mouth closed...

is not information. It's a recommendation to commit a crime when we're talking about school property.

Hey if someone wants to google how to deep conceal a weapon and it's recommendation is the P3AT and a DeSantis pocket holster are you still going to say that google is advocating breaking the law? As I said anyone can use any information any way they want. Doesnt mean I am advocating it, I am just giving out information.

You in fact advocated carrying a firearm onto school property in so many words.

    Your logic is deeply flawed.
