Woodcock Hunting

Dog and I went for a couple hours today. Didn't see any birds. Wondering if anybody else went and saw some.

I dont know ANYONE that purposely went woodcock hunting!! They are always just stumbled upon,shot,cooked up and tossed!!! May as well chew on a chunk of dirt!!

I am jealous. When I had my Brittanies I always loved going.

Back in the day when I had setters I would get into them while grouse hunting, but never went hunting for them specifically. Woodcock are a migratory bird, they may have not made down your way yet.

I plan on going next Monday at our place.....They hang out there a bit and I got a new Boykin Spaniel I want to take out....

Wood is so old school. Now days they use rubber, latex and silicone.......
Besides, Woodcocks will give you splinters in your No-No Hole.

My brother got one last year at Glendale while pheasant hunting...We were there Sunday and got some pheasants...My Boykin's first trip out....
