Windshield chip

What should I expect to pay to have a chip fixed in my windshield. It is just a little star break about a 1/8 inch. If it was a newer car I would just wait and see if it spreads and replace the windshield, but it is 20 years old so I don't want to spend $300. to $400 for a new one.

If you have Comprehensive, it should be free to replace .....

Seems like the last time I looked at those resin fix type deals, it was in the $200 range.

My daughter got a chip in hers and American Family set up a guy to come to our house and fix it. It cost me $50.00.

Safe auto claims they will waive the deductible.

But im guessing no comprehensive insurance?

As I recall a spider crack can't be resined. You need a bullseye for that kind of fix to work.

Maybe the pros can fix those but the diy kits say no.

Safelight has came to our shop and fixed a couple for our customers. So far so good.

Or has Geico......Believe it or not, that's not covered under comprehensive, it's a separate rider....

Perhaps I could humbly suggest practicing with your slingshot OUTSIDE and AWAY from the car?? It's just a thought, but might be cheaper in the long run...

Does it look anything like the one in this video? I had a crack in my truck windshield and filled it using this video as a guide about 2-3 months ago. Worked pretty well. I can still see the crack, but it seems to be filled pretty nicely. Only time will tell if the crack expands though.
