This weekend I had the opportunity to shoot a Winchester Challenge Pistol Match @ FCVCC. It was shot right after the monthly highpower match. I have not heard of this match before reading about it in the monthly newsletter but I thought since it was close and on my home range I would give it a try. The targets used had no black bullseye just lines indicating scoring area. I never used targets like these and found it somewhat challenging trying to get a good sight picture. The course of fire was strong hand 5 rounds slow fire and then 5 rounds rapid fire (5 rds in 10 sec). Then again with the weak hand. We shot the course twice for a total of 40 rds. I believe we were at 15 yards.
My scores (200 max for each round)
Round 1 Round 2
Strong Hand 100-9x 100-9x
Weak Hand 93-3x 98-5x
Total 193-12x 198-14x
Not a very challengeing course for me but the work on the weak hand was noted.
We were told that this is a new program from the NRA last year but I have not been able to find any info on it. Has anyone heard of this program?
