I thought it was okay, until the end when it said obi one was a noble and correct conspracy theoriest, and then it sbowed a bunch of pictures, including charlie sheen, who are supposed to probably be other real people who may not be so crazy about their own conspiracies, and then low and behold, a guy with a 911 conspiracy banner behind him.

If there is one thing I will not stand for, it is people who claim our president or government are secretly responsible for 911. This video seems to have its own hidden agenda, which is tto support left wing indocrination.

That seems like an odd statement to make. Do you find the idea of Bush or the US Government acting in a malicious manner impossible? It seems to me that even outside of INGO the majority of Americans find the government untrustworthy. Or, is it just President Obama that has a monopoly on conspiracies (i.e abolishing the 2nd Amendment, destroying America with Socialism, Communism, Marxism, etc.)?

No. I hate Ep 1-3 for the simple reason that they sucked as movies and totally ignored what had already been established in the 1st three movies. Lucas was pandering to toy makers in them and they just flat out sucked, political message or no.

Madbomber, some conspiracy theories are invented for political gain, and have no factual basis whatsoever. What was Bushes goal, is he emporer now? Did Osama admit to it, yes. There isnt any basis for a theory besides blatant liberal Bush bashing, and pure antiAmericanism. Since I am American, you might be able to understand how this is insulting to me. But that's not the real issue with 911 conspiracies, the real insulting issue is that thousands of people died, andI dont believe that they want their memories used for cheap political shots.

There's actually quite a basis for the conspiracy theories (not that that makes ANY of them true). Couple that with the fact that there was no real or serious investigation of 9/11, that the attack led to draconian assaults on American civil liberties and the rule of law in this country, and that the attacks were used as political fodder and theater by the politicians in power, and it's no wonder people see conspiracy where none may in fact exist.

And people have been dying for thousands of years for "cheap political shots".

Suck is a strong word but pretty close.......... went to see it again last night in 3D on the big screen.

The whole soul of the originals was bleed out..... he should have shelved all
the digital crap and went with the already established techniques for the prequels.

Yes, maybe todays audience would squeak a little about the campy effects
but they would have been a much better finished product.

& thus because all you cry-babies have complained about E1-E3 he has gone on record saying he is done making anything SW. :D

We (older generation) love E4-E6 because that is what we grew up with in our childhood (ie. we dreamed of becoming a jedi, of saving the princess, of flying in an x-wing, etc)

My kids (4 and 6) have seen E1-E6 and while they are OK with E4-E6 they love E1 and E3 the best. To them those are star wars and my son dreams of becoming a Jedi. To him the newer SW are "his star wars" and thus a "new generation" of fans we have.

Our time has past, make room for the younger generation and their lightsaber fighting style while us older generations ponder how to focus the power of the force since we are too old to go rescue the princess or duel it out with the clone army.

    :D

Darth Vader and the New World Order

While premiering his film, Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith, at the Cannes Film Festival George Lucas was asked if his new film was a social commentary on George Bush and the Iraq invasion (which even our own government admits is part of America's new "kindly, helpful and loving" imperialism). How can they not ask this when Darth Vader says to his former teacher Obi-Wan Kenobi, "if you're not with me, then you're my enemy." Remember that Lord Bush, after the 9/11 attacks said, "either you are with us, or you are with the terrorists."

Lucas responded to the reporters by saying that the original Star Wars was developed in the early post-Vietnam War era shortly after Richard Nixon left office amidst a byzantine scandal.

He continued by saying, "The issue was, how does a democracy turn itself into a dictatorship...When I wrote it, Iraq (the U.S.-led war) didn't exist.. but the parallels of what we did in Vietnam and Iraq are un believable ...I didn't think it was going to get this close."

Speaking about present day America he said, "I hope this doesn't come true in our country.

Sorry, but I totally disagree. The reason I don't like Ep1-3 is because they sucked. The same way that Ep6 sucked.

I could go on in fine details of the problems of Ep1-3 but I just don't have it in me to ruin my Sunday ranting about a movie series that I generally like.

    Where's the bacon?

You may not stand for it, but that doesn't make it impossible. We know that the ones who seized the planes on 9/11 came and took flying lessons here in the US. We know that they had a plan. What we don't know is who funded their trip to America or their flying lessons, and who created the plan. We know we were told that OBL was behind it. We know we have been told he hated America. Do we know any of this to be true? Has anyone who speaks Arabic ever listened to his actual words, from his own mouth? (I don't know if anyone has. If so, I've never heard from them.)

Further, government exists to grow, to increase it's size and power and influence. Surely you don't deny that. After 9/11, what happened to the size and power of government? Now, I'm not falling into the post hoc ergo propter hoc fallacy, but I've seen much that indicates involvement and the bottom line for me is that I don't trust the central government to stay within its Constitutionally defined limits ever since long before I was born.
Power corrupts, they say, and absolute power corrupts absolutely. They seem to me to have pretty close to absolute power.

It's a question of the nature of man. Very few can be granted power and not abuse it. None can be given power and not be tempted. Most of those who can successfully "not abuse it" simply have no desire to run for office, so we're left with the rest.... and those who won't abuse their power are marginalized and labeled "unelectable", a self-fulfilling prophecy when the sheep see that label.

Is our government behind 9/11? Possible. We'll never really know. We're often told in such times, "Follow the money." I don't think that is applicable per se, when a President's salary over four years is $1.6M and they spend multiple millions out of their own pockets to get the job. Rather, I suggest we follow the maxim, "Follow the power."

    :twocents:

    Blessings,
    Bill

4 through 6 were better movies because the dialogue was better,

    the acting was better,

    the space ships looked better,

Darth Vader didn't scream "NOOOOO!" like he was doing a bad rendition of Oedipus,

R2-D2 and C-3PO were heros AND comic relief,

Yoda and Jabba both looked better as practical f/x than as CGI,

when Lucas forgot how to direct, he hired Richard Marquand and Irving Kirschner to help,

    the cool characters were emphasized,

and the lame as FDR characters (wait, there were no lame characters in 4 through 6),

    and last but not least,

    no Jar-Tard Binks.

That being said, the article makes an interesting point.

So, is this about Star Wars or about politics? If it is the former then I have to use my Jedi, er, I mean, MOD skills and say "this is not the forum you are looking for"
