You miss the point if you think this writer is an idiot. He's part of the smear campaign, the propagandists that someone like Stalin used daily. He is a tool of those who hate liberty. But an idiot?

Never underestimate your enemies like that. It reduces your wariness and helps keep them in business longer than they should. He is a cunning rhetorician being used to subvert the will to live a life free of totalitarianism.
