With the proceeds from some recent sales, I can now look at "replacements".

One thing for sure, I plan on getting a TT-33 (probably a Romanian) in order to use up the rest of my Tok ammo. That one's a given...

    Second one:

    Should I get a Steyr M9-A1

    or

    Beretta 92FS?

I've only ever handled the Steyr, they have absoultely top-notch ergonomics. Probably not quite as good as the P99, but darrned close.

I shot a 92 on New Year's Eve...and promptly fell in love. They're big pistols, but not as big as I remember them being. Recoil was minimal, too, due to the size.

I'm leaning towards the Steyr, though, because it's one that I can see myself carrying. I CAN'T see myself ever carrying the 92.

    What say you?

I've had the Beretta before not the Steyr . Still the Steyr is very interesting. And I've heard good things about them. I have handled them and they feel good. Also am interested in the Tok too. Cheap to shoot that's for sure.

Yeah, I'm conflicted (understatement of the year!!)

Personally, I don't see how a pistol "collection" can be anywhere near complete without a Beretta 92. But, I don't have much of a "collection" anyhow.

The Steyr is roughly the size of the G19/23, whereas the Italian Stallion is up near G17/22 sizes.

Right now, I'm about 40% Italian, 60% Austrian. Danged Axis.

    Update...

After handling an example of both, I"m about 90% Austrian and 10% Italian..

    Those Steyrs are nice pistolas!!

Yeah...I think it is a size issue for sure. If you want something more mid-sized, the Austrian all the way. I like the Berettas and for a gun that was going to see a lot of rounds at the range, it'd be a lot of fun and soft shooting.

I sold a 92 stainless this year because I just didn't shoot it and it was too big to conceal carry. Sold it to one of my foremen at work and he has now purchased two other pistols and an AR this year.
