My first reloading bench was a small roll around tool box with a Dillon 450. Now it is a Craftsman 5 drawer work bench, with a 4'X4' peg board. 25 years ago, had a small apt.. now I have a 8'X12" room for my gun safe and reloading equipment.
I built a base out of 4x4's and 2x6's then bought two sheets of 3/4" plywood cut them both in half and glued the four pieces of plywood together. So now I have a 2'x8' top that is about 3" thick. I used one sheet of nice cabinet grade oak plywood to get a smooth top/bottom. worked well for about 6yrs now.
First one was the kitchen table back in '77. Since '84 we have an 8' piece of kitchen counter top attached to the wall of one of the bedrooms as a hobby/reloading bench.
First: the press was mounted to a melamine cabinet door and c-clamped to the kitchen table.
Later: the press was mounted to a piece of a 2x6 c-clamped to the kitchen table.
Now: the press(es) is/are mounted to a piece of 2x6 bolted to an old metal printer stand. Compact and portable, and strong enough... just not heavy enough. Ii'll have to work on that.
