The heart sets the price. The mind justifies it.

The 19 is a fantastic shooter. However, keep in mind that while the one you are bidding on could be a good one, you never know about it’s manufacture or use after new. S&W production pieces were a hit and miss until the later dash systems and closer tolerances in manufacturing came about. The 19-7 that I have now is perfect from the start. Better than all my others in the past. Odds are it is or can be made into a good shooter but one never knows.

My new book says the dash 3 is $900 for very good, $1100 for excellent and $1600 NIB.

That is a guide line cuz I have never found a book with guns to sell...
In commerce, and especially in an auction, whatever someone will pay for something is what it`s worth.

I have never seen a model 19 with a patridge front sight only a serrated ramp. Or a barrel longer than 4 inches. Or with smooth, uncheckered, target grips. It might be a very special revolver. It might be a custom shop gun.

I might try to find out more about it.

Trying to figure this in today's auction environment is a waste of time, get in the auction and bid until you either get it or lose it.

Alcohol can help make the experience more enjoyable!

There is truth here.....I had an occassion or two where a "successful bid" caught me a bit off guard.

Christmas can come any day of the year. Whiskey can increase the frequency.
