I'm going to be "that guy" for just a second, and ask an earnest question.
If that trigger was so substandard, so egregious in its misperformance, why would you keep it.
Are some of the bagged parts still useful in other applications? Or, since the totality of those parts was marginal, would you just be spreading the virus wherever you used them?
I save takeoffs, but if it's trash I trash it.
If I or someone of my passing wanted a correct piece to reinstall it as a collectible, not a shooter, this may add to the value/pleasure (in my head at least).

This part can be modified, but I just dropped in a tapco trigger and it works just fine. I'm a collector that shoots.

I will always refer to my 1942 Garand wanting it to be correct. Only needed a correct op rod to make it so. Feel better now.

I’ve saved anything and everything for years….gonna need it someday (In purple). I’m sick of it honestly but just can’t get myself to throw it away. It must come from growing up poor and never having as much as the other kids. My roommate thinks I’m crazy, which is probably true, and tries to hide anything “good” she wants to throw away. I need to get serious though and start getting rid of some of the useless crap that I’ll never need or use.
The worst part is as soon as I throw away that odd screw, spring or stock I’ll need it. It’s a disease man!!!

I went to an estate sale last summer. There were some gun parts in bags and listed as to what they were... Even priced. I guess since he knew it was time he wanted to price them so his wife and daughters wouldn't have to. I didn't buy any but I did get an some carheart insulated overhalls for $5! Guess he wasn't worried about pricing the clothes.
