Illinois just needs a law preventing municipalities from passing gun legislation.

Or forced secession of Cook County from the rest of the state. Downstate wouldn't lose that much, and the Cook County residents could foot the entire bill for their 'progressive' policies.

I'm sure you caught the part where manufacturers are included.
I don't who/how many manufacturers are in Illinois but this isn't good for them especially those that can't move for whatever reason, and would be a tremendous expense for those that would move.

This goes to show you how stupid The Machine is.
    They are beyond bankrupt.
The State/Machine makes money from firearms related sales in so many ways, not to mention the jobs created i.e. more money for them.
    They are so stupid.

Hard telling how much money Illinois garners from Springfield Armory Inc in one year just for property taxes, permits, fees ect.
    That's just one manufacturer.
    Stupid, so stupid.

Then we get to the part of this being illegal.

    The less concerning side:

Someone wants to claim they tried to their constituents.

    The far more concerning side:

This is a proxy &/or test by a mayor who used to work for a president.

So go the cities, so goes the nation. They are the 80%.

I found this site because I'm going to GTFO of Illinois. That's one less "rational" vote to offset the drunks on the streets of the projects. I tried to effect change. But alas a couple of "projects" in the slums offset the population/vote of some of the downstate counties.

It will be until the next election? Or Obama is out of office and the FED shuts ILL. down before there will be any change here.

Picture 2010 election where the whole of the "downstate" was littered with Brady for Governor signs. Yet East ST Louis and Cook county pulled out the win for Quinn. Who has turned out to be another stooge in a long line of them.

Personally, I got tired of waiting. Voting with my FEET.

I don't think the breaking point is too far off until the people start fighting back and all these laws won't matter anymore.

I looked into this....it seems its mostly targeting AR and large caliber semi autos.

Illinois General Assembly - Bill Status for HB1294

I dont think they are wanting to take your hand guns.....yet

Actually they are wanting to take your handguns. Read the whole text of the bill, it includes semi-auto pistols with magazine capacity greater than 10 rounds.

At first I thought this was just a scare tactic from the Illinois State Rifle Association but I decided to read the actual text of the bill and it is as bad as they say....but IANAL.
