Indianapolis triple shooting suspect involved in Chicago police shooting | Fox 59

CHICAGO (Oct. 7, 2014)– Triple shooting suspect Daniel Brown engaged in gun battle with U.S. Marshals and Chicago police officers Tuesday night.

A police captain has sustained a head-wound but is expected to survive.

Sources tell FOX59 News that Brown had been tracked to his sister’s apartment in Englewood in a semi tractor-trailer he had stolen from a south side Marion County truck yard Sunday - the day after he allegedly shot three people in Indianapolis.

While investigators were watching the sister’s apartment at approximately 7:20 p.m., Brown arrived and exchanged gunfire with police, wounding the Chicago P.D. Captain.

Brown is now barricaded inside his sister’s apartment with the woman and reportedly is armed with two guns.

Brown was charged today with the shootings of three people Saturday in Indianapolis and the theft of the vehicle from Ryder Transportation Services, where he formerly worked.
