I handled them but not shot them, I would go GSG based off that. Cheap fun, GSG has threaded barrel, not sure if the Chiappa does or not. A .22 1911 with silencer=WIN!

I've got a GSG. It's hands down, the better of what's available.... much higher quality.

GSG 1911 all the way - shoots wonderful and I have had no jams with about 200 rounds through it this week already.

I've got close to 1K thru my GSG, and it gets better ever time I shoot. Looked over the Chiappa at the 1500 and it is not even close to the GSG. No afterthought on the magazines, either; they're built as well as the pistol.

Well based on my experience of shooting a documented 9,524 rounds through my GSG1911, I will have to give the nod to the GSG.

I have had two parts breakages in just under 10,000 rounds fired. The first was the barrel bushing, which broke somewhere around the 2,150 round mark. All of the newest GSG1911's are now shipping with the improved barrel bushing, so this should now longer be an issue. The second breakage was the firing pin, which broke somewhere around the 9,000 round mark. This breakage was not too surprising, given the abuse that a rim-fire firing pen gets... They are built nothing like a center-fire firing pin. Both of these breakages were promptly handled by ATI, and I would have to rate their customer service as A+. There are quite a few top name gun manufacturers who could learn a thing or two from ATI's customer service department.

    I love my GSG1911:

question (not bashing of any kind), what's the point in getting a .22 in a 1911 frame...i can't think that it would do much for training comparing the negligible recoil of a 22 against a 45, there are much better (and extremely more accurate) 22 pistols on the market....(think Ruger Mark II or III, Beretta Neos or Browning Buckmark...)..whats the logic or philosophy behind a .22 1911?

Same controls, similar weight, 80% of parts interchangeable with .45 1911, the accuracy is very
good with it's fixed barrel. It wasn't designed to be a target gun.

Or.......... just because I wanted one.

I recently got to do a demo with Tactical Solutions and meet the company owner, and after testing their stuff, it is truly awesome. They are worth a serious look, if you are wanting a top end for a gun you already have. They also support the shooting sports a whole bunch.

I wonder what I'd get for a trade from my SW1911 for one of these and a [strike]threaded barrel[/strike] suppressor... at least until my LTCH comes in :)

soooo, what you guys are saying is..GET THE GSG! got it.

And why a .22 1911? Because Im finding the .22s in my collection to be the most fun things to shoot and they are a great way to introduce new people to the sickness. ;)
