    Good morning, everyone :coffee:

I can’t believe it’s still not light out and it’s almost 8. This doesn’t help me in the wanting to get up department.

Five kids. They never rode the bus. I miss picking them up from school when young. I do not miss taking them on cold mornings.

Our grandson rides the bus. Has its positives too...:D

This crew wants to leave early and sit at school waiting for the doors to open. Never met kids this anxious to go to school.

    Morning folks! :coffee:

Sorry to hear about the knee issues Hop. Was it a replacement or correction done yesterday? The first day after the rotator cuff surgery was a tough one for me, but it quickly got better with the cryogenic-cooling thing they gave me. Once I figured out how to run the dang thing that is. Ice is your friend.

I just got back from the range trip this morning. I started shooting at 8am and had 75 rounds down range by 8:07. It was raining steadily and fairly dark, so it was a good exercise. It’s not too often that I get to practice with the rail mounted TLR-1 in a situation that it’s actually needed.

Right now, the 5 guns shot are all sitting on the kitchen counter drying and I’ll clean and lube them at lunch.

I remember reading about your rotator cuff woes, and really glad to see you're back at the firing line! Mine was a badly torn meniscus, cleaning out some arthritis that started setting in, and now realizing I've worn my cartilage pretty thin at least in this knee that's been repaired. Surgeon tried poking holes in the bit of cartilage left to stimulate some growth, but also said it's likely my running days are over unless I want to look at a full replacement in the next few years. So the good news is that the surgery went exactly according to plan. The bad news is that I have to give up something I've been good at and enjoyed since Jr High. Running has always been my outlet. Kind of like TT (though I'm sure I wasn't as fast!), I was invited to walk on to the Ball State x-country team, but opted against it at the time (which I still regret), and now it looks like I'll need to hang it up and figure out a new fitness plan. Swimming, maybe? But I *hate* cold water.

I hate deer. They eat anything I want to grow and won't touch anything I don't want.

Just ran 7 deer out of the yard 10 minutes after a Fedex delivery. They will be back shortly for more acorns. (Edit: had to interrupt posting to run another 4 off)

Found this note from the Fedex driver...

It's a shame I'm just inside the edge of the city limits. I could stock the local food pantry with meat every year.

I'm thinking bicycling is easier on the knees since there is no impact. I love mountain biking and can tolerate road biking.

We have the same problem at my parents’ house. Deer end up eating a large portion of the vegetables. My mom just runs outside and yells at them constantly.

Do you have a tree I can climb or a corner I can set a ground blind in? I can help with the problem. I'll take pictures of the buck and eat some tasty does.
Seriously tho', walmart bags tied to a fence or a clothesline make enough noise and motion to keep them at bay for a garden. Looks goofy but works.
