    .
3" of snow on the ground already here in the GSF. I finally came back in. Heavy wet stuff that piled up on the rifle and froze. Outer clothes soaked, frozen and snow covered. The gardener said I looked like Hatchet Jack when I came through the door.

Internet points for anybody who remembers the character of Hatchet Jack and what movie he is from.

Jeremiah Johnson? The frozen dude that JJ gets his rifle from?

All good choices especially if you get one that has sand or mud inside! Those turn out to be some of the best shooters! :@ya:
These intrigue me simply because they are “ made in Czechoslovakia“ and the 85 appears to be in good condition but I do not know much about them (I noticed this importer puts new grips on many of his listings)

I'd rather have an 82 than the commercial 83 but probably six or one half dozen aside from the 82 (IIRC) is 9mm makarov only.

Of those four, I'd probably go for the 85 first.

The 75 pre B doesn't have a pinned front sight which requires delicate machining to install a different sight.

The 82/83's are cool. I'd like to have one (or more) just because...

I hope everyone had a good Veteran's Day. For those that served, thank you.

I had a surprise day off, as I didn't think about us being closed till all my Friday meetings got rescheduled on Thursday. So I made the most of yesterday's day off, and ran out to Proteq. I only took 3 pistols with me. The P-01, P-10s, and the Springfield Hellcat.

The Pistol bay in the south range was closed for a class, so I used the steel range instead. I like the P-01, but I shot like garbage with it. I was using the six target horizontal rack. Out of 15 rounds per magazine, I was averaging only knocking down 9 per magazine. I was hitting the rack with at least 3 of those other missed shots.

The Hellcat, I did even worse, I was only hitting 4 out of 12. I was getting pretty annoyed with myself.

Don came over and we talked a little bit, always a good conversation there. Then I pulled out the P-10s, with the optic on it. I was hitting 10 out of 12 with it. I finished off my time out at Proteq talking with Stephen. I have arranged for a basic pistol class for my wife, and moved the Advanced Pistol class that I wanted to do with Stephen to the same day. So in December, I will be going out, and getting some training.

All in all, yesterday was a good day. I need to make sure I get back to where I am getting out to Proteq at least once a month. The past two years, I have been really bad about getting out and shooting.

Dog (babysitting our daughter's dog for a period of time) won't go in the snow without me escorting her. Florida born dog.
My sausage dog doesn't like going out in the rain, or when it is snowing. Once it stops she is fine and will go out and play a bit.
