    The 97 has always been a favorite .45 of mine to shoot. Very soft and a big hunk of steel too.
    I have always (since BA infected me with the CZickness) shot the 97 as well as and sometimes better than a 1911. The low barrel canter line and low mass slide mounted on a seriously man sized chunk of metal make for a great shooter.
    but the 1911 offers up so many avenues to modify and customize. And both the 97 and the 1911 are better than I am.
