I had a novel idea the other day about 1-hole groups. Load a mag with 5 rounds. The first round is a live one. The remaining 4 are blanks.

Evil cheaters. Watch the berm for splash, boys! And there ain't no one hole groups at 1000 yds!
We're gonna have to start holding precision contests o'er water and having the referee check magazines.:rules:

    Morning folks

If anyone is interested in my 457 Pro Varmint stock or Norma 308 ammo I have listed, we should be able to get it down to Indy next weekend via the pantsless hiway. Just offering that out there.

That's a fair deal on that ammo TD. I'm tapped out right now though. I need to finish load development and get back to shooting reloads again

I'll be joining the reloading game as well eventually, with the guidance of Obi Wan mcapo.

Yep. Just ask gmcttr. One round every 6-9 months.

I don’t have the heart to tell him that was just a uncharged test round. Might be another 6-9 months before I get a primer and some powder in it.

My scope finally arrived Friday. I'm not sure about it though, fixed 30× is going to take some getting used to. I'm optimistic but not 100% sure yet.
The rifle finally showed out for delivery yesterday but my FFL is closed on Saturday so will have to wait til tomorrow. I'm a bit anxious about it but this will give me patience practice..

Afternoon all. To say I slept in this morning would be an understatement. :D
Same here ! Us retirees must have a lock on lazy sleep-ins.
Yesterday, I entertained the wife at the cabin, but today is MY day.
First, I'm going to bore-sight the Bergara .308, then I'm going to actually shoot it.
    Shoot, clean, shoot, clean .....X5.

I like what Proof Research says about barrel break-in.

    BARREL BREAK-IN—

Barrel break-in is performed in order to smooth out any
micro-roughness in the bore that may occur after initial projectiles
leave an uneven, and possibly excessive, distribution of copper
in the bore, which is why it is sometimes necessary to use
copper solvent. However, it’s not necessary to remove every
    trace of copper.

    Don’t overthink barrel break-in.

To break-in the barrel, perform the following steps:
    1. Shoot three shots and then clean (see cleaning
    instructions on page 7).

    2. Shoot three more shots and clean again.

Well...... I like it too, because it would be easier. But. my Spanish brethren at Bergara have recommended a tougher road.....a road that I shall follow, Bandit ! :chuck:
