Springfield XD front sight STUCK!!

I have purchased a new fiber optic front sight for my XD. Took it to a gunsmith to have it put on. Looks like it is a no go however. The gunsmith said he tried a sight pusher and a brass punch and the stock sight wouldn't budge. Not to mention the my sight now has a pretty nasty rolled edge on it now. Any suggestions for removing this thing??? Or just send it back to the manufacture??

I have seen sights stuck so bad the 'smith had to mill it almost all the way out, and then cleaned out the dovetail.

Had to send mine back to Springfield.

Sending back to Springfield is probably the smart thing, if they bugger the slide, they have a new one right there. Good Luck

Yup those are known to be horrible to remove.

Good luck. Just another reason to go with something different.

I have a sight pusher specifically for the XD pistols and haven't found one it wouldn't work on yet. I can't get to it until after Memorial Day weekend but if you can wait I'd be happy to put the screws to it (so to speak) for you.
