Anyone know of a decent speed loader for Butler Creek 25 round Ruger 10/22 mags and for standard Ruger Mk III 22/45 mags? Ideally I'd like one small enough to fit my range bag, like the Lula loaders I use, and not the giant crank thing that Butler sells.

It's not that mags are hard to load, but the mag loaders sure save my thumbs. My Walther P22 mags are a breeze, but my MkIII mags and my 10/22 mags are a PITA. So far, I've been extremely happy with the Lula AR-15 and the upLula 9mm loaders, but as far as I know, Maglula doesn't make .22LR loaders.

    not much choice

With the 10/22 mags you don't have many choices and they are are cumbersome. The only thing available are the ones like you have tried. For the MKIII you have the ultimate speed loader like was already posted but they are also big. I have one made by adco that slides over the mag and you hold it down and then load.

I've seen a couple of thumbsaver-type speedloaders for the MkIII mags, which is really all I need for those (something like this). They're like $5 and should work just fine. The 10/22 mags, on the other hand, all I've seen is like what's show in the video above. I don't mind manually inserting the round (as with the Lula loaders), I just need something to take the tension off the spring while I do it. It's bad enough with 9mm, but the .22 rounds really kill my thumbs after awhile.

    I have lots

Scutter, I understand what you are saying. I have 11 10/22's and 4 Chargers. When we go shooting I load 50 standard mags and 15 -25,30,and 50 rounders. Other than the Butler Creek loader or something like I have found nothing on the market.

I will be using the Butler Creek 1022 mag loader tomorrow night at the FNS. I've used mine for almost a year now and my fingers are very greatful I have.
    I love the thing.

Ok, I've discovered that I need something for my Blackdog Ceiner mags, too. Those things are ridiculous. You know, at least with my 9mm mags, I can use a universal loader, but with .22, everyone has a different mag type. I'm gonna have to buy a dozen different mag loaders!

Alright, does anyone have any suggestions for the BDM mags?

I'm on my way to the range right now and I'm bringing three different 22's which each would require a special speed loader. *sigh*
