I have not been bit by the AR bug. I've shot afew but just can't get excited about them. That said, the 300 blk has, for some reason, peaked my interest a little. I still doubt that I would spend that kind of $ on an AR. The 458 and 358 don't really excite me either. I can't see a huge advantage hunting deer in Indiana with an AR. I don't have long shots where I hunt and a 44 rifle or a 50 cal. ML does everything I need. And if I need a full semi auto mag dump to take a deer or hog, then I would have some work to do on my fundamentals. If the 458, 358 and 300 blk work for others, I wish every one the best of luck with it.

The 458 Socom is already a popular round since it can be used for deer in Indiana. I also think the 300BLK will be popular too once everyone realizes what it is capable off. I would be happy to buy one of each from a local manufacturer if I hadn't just bought a 458 upper for hunting etc. and a complete piston 300blk. I plan on using the 300blk for 3 gun but it looks like it also have applications in hunting. I have read several reports of people taking up to 300lb hogs with a single shot using a Barnes 110gr TSX at 2400fps.

    Chris

I run 110 Vmaxs, 110 Barnes Tac TSX's at 2300 fps from my 10.5" and Sierra 220's, Hornady 225"s, and yes the big Sierra 240 at 1015 fps from the 10.5"

I also sell 300 AAC Blackout brass as well as convert customers 5.56/223 brass to Blackout. Most of my brass conversion comes from TX and LA for hog killing. I prefer to use it on the abundance of coyotes we have here. Brass will be available at Sniperco in the next few weeks.

Big fan of the .300BLK myself. I have a Suppresed SBR build underway, and for the time being am running a 16" CMMG upper until the stamps come through.

I'm very impressed in the round and the ability to put significant more energy down range than a comparable .223 rifle.

I'd be very interested in an SBR in the 8-10" range, which seems to be the best overal compromise in length and muzzle velocity.

I prefer a 10.5" myself and love running the Hornady 225's. Some barrels shorter than 9" have issues with cycling Sub's unsuppressed. My 10.5" cycles everything suppressed or not. Our first upper will be an 8" with a 12" free floated handguard of carbon fiber and a 7" SAS can The can should only protrude 2 1/2" and give the MP5SD look. This upper will be available without the suppressor and already threaded for cans you already own. I beleive the next upper will be a 16" for those who are not interested in an SBR and then I'm hoping we will do a 10.5" or similar with a rail that allows just the threads exposed for the can or a flash hider.

I would like a AR upper in .300 Blackout myself. The AR is cool. I have/had uppers in 7.62x39 and 6x45 so far.

One lower, all kinds of AR caliber choices. Versatile and thrifty. lol

I consider the .300 Blackout an American 7.62x39 AR alternative with all kinds of bullets/speeds to choose, with just a barrel change.

I like a all around use, .30 caliber intermediate cartridge for close range.

I'm watching and waiting to buy the best deal. lol

Sounds great! I have a purchased a YHM can (form 4 in progress) so very much looking forward to what you have available that is compatible. The 10.5 would be very interesting indeed!

We are currently working on our 300 Black out suppressed SBR uppers along with 16" versions and will be unveilling them at the SilencerCo shoot in Dallas, TX.

I am asking if their is yet a big interest for a 300 Black Out yet in Indiana?

By hunting season and hopefully Senate Bill 0243 passes we should have our 458 SOCOM uppers available.

How much of an interest is their in the 458 here?

Would you use an AR upper to hunt?

    Suppressed?

When is the SNIPERCO shoot in tx?
