Got this in a recent trade. Nice but need the cash. Yugo captured "scrubbed" German K98. Bright bore with sharp rifling. Comes with 140 rounds of surplus 8mm ammo on stripper clips. $300 FTF in Indy. Will take a partial trade but need some cash. I like AK stuff.

Yugoslavia captured (and Russia) captured a bunch of K98s from WW2. They both removed ("scrubbed" off) or modified markings and placed their own. A lot of times they would do an Arsenal rework and I bet that is why the barrel is so nice. So even though it is a German made K98, it has almost all the German markings removed and Yugo markings in place. This ones original markings that you can see the Mod. 98 which wasn't scrubbed, a faint "193" under the crest so it was built in the 1930s with the last digit unreadable and some tiny Eagle proofmarks on the sight and base. Takes away collector value (I've seen some original K98s for over $1000), makes a nice shooter and interesting story.
