More government school nonsense from Indiana schools.

Report: Pepper spray used during Lawrence Central fracas | Indianapolis Star | indystar.com

    http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=2013302100348

I'm willing to disregard the pepper spray incident as a "boys will be boys" thing. The article doesn't really go into much detail (surprise, surprise). For all we know it could have been an AD.

But the sexual assault is beyond forgivable. Not allowing one of the victim's to speak to her parent. Not reporting it to the parent(s) immediately.

Of course, what do you expect when the parent of the victim calls the perp "confused." Very likely he's a victim of it himself. But that makes him dangerous, not confused. And it will only continue to happen until he gets professional help (along with cessation of the molestation against him) and/or he is permanently removed from the school.

I wonder if the parent(s) of the boy are aware of the accusations and what his/her/their response is to it all.

Indeed. Public education was a good idea that has turned into a train wreck. Administrators too afraid to do anything that may draw public attention. Poor teachers held in place by overly powerful unions. A curriculum focused on out testing foreign countries rather than teaching what students need to know. A shame my parents wouldn't go for a home/internet school. Only 2 1/2 more years of mental suffocation to go. Hopefully I'll still retain individual thought by the end of it. The powers that be would prefer I don't, however. Glad I know enough to resist indocrination.

The High schools are huge, mostly un-monitored and the attendees run amok at will. There is ample opportunity for mayhem between classes and many non-attendees are present at these times for this or that (use imagination)
Not trying to throw back to my time but dress codes, mandatory attendance and a dean of boys un-tethered by P/C kept things mostly in line. We did not have major issues until busing was implemented. Things got out of hand after that.

You know I have been thru this deal not to this extreme, but a girl in my sons school sent another boy a nude pic of herself the boy was 18 my boy was 15 at the time, well the 18tr old got busted with the pic somehow and tried to turn it on my son saying he got it from him. Now the problem with this was that my sons phone can't recieve or send pics " Thank God" but any who he was called in the office and questioned about it and said they was calling in the local law cause it was child porn, now keep in mind this girl took the pic of herself and sent it out to the 18 yr old, well why being questioned and drilled over the pic and my son repeating that his phone is not capable of recieving or sending pics the principal informed my son that he was not allowed to contact my wife or myself till after they decided what they was going to do. My son contacted me as soon as the pricipal told him not to so I call the school and try to get to the bottom of it and after my conversation with the principal the principal pulled my son out of class and proceeded to chew his ass out for doing what he was told not to do, my sons reply was you don't know my father very well do you, well after finding out the details about my son not being able to call me about the situation I took it to the school board and *****ed and you guessed it they said SORRY. ok I am finished

I think the schools are worried about their "scores". I believe when students are expelled or fail to complete the school loses "points" on their annual review. Also they risk a lawsuit from the parents of the poor misguided troublemakers who will insist they were treated unfairly.

As a result those with behavioral issues get "written up", sent to the office and have their parents counseled and then keep returning to the classroom every day to disrupt the environment for those student who are trying to learn. (personal experience)

I sure hope it was an AD and not someone who decided it would be funny to unload a whole can in a classroom. Wonder if it was bear spray or something.
