Talked to a person that just got it. Made a joke about being able to hang out at home for at least a few months on what he had on his 2 flat carts at Sam's.

He said he's stocking up on basics for many reasons....

    8 cases of water
    4 - 50 bags of rice
    8 cases of soup,
    2 cases of TP
and lots of other long term storage foods
and lots of other stuff to let him stay at home.

I'm seeing this more and more at all the stores I visit........

A neighbor stopped last night and said he just came from his daughter's house. He said his son-in-law was filling up new 5 gallon buckets with flour, sugar, and other items for long term storage. Last week I asked my wife to start buying a little each week extra to "overstock" the pantry with extra soups, bread mixes, peanut butter, jelly, sugar, juices, and anything she needed to keep us fed in the future. Oh, yes, TP too...

I've been slowly gathering stuff myself. Just a bit here and there. Sams and Costco are my favorite places to buy bulk goods.

I felt like that on our last trip to SAMS. Finally found where they had the salt and bought 96 lbs. Less than $0.25 per pound. Very cheap insurance. We had a flat cart and a full regular cart with all sorts of things. We looked like survivalists. But then again, I consider any smart person these days to be one. :D
