My Saiga conversion is almost finished. Finally! I dropped the rifle off at a gunsmith to do the front sight block change to a Bulgarian ak-74 with bayonet lug and cleaning rod groove. I've searched the forum and net and haven't found the info I'm looking for but my question/concern is, will the Bulgarian ak-74 muzzle brake clear the 7.62x39 round or not?

I bought the two in a deal so the threads are 24x1.5mm. Since I already have it I was wondering if it would work. I could always go buy an aftermarket 74 "style" if needed I guess.

lots of options for brakes then. The ak-74 style, spikes, CNC warrior makes some, manticore arms, and more I'm sure.

Thanks, did some more research and I should be able to use the 5.45x39 ak-74 brake even though it's smaller than the 7.62x39. There is enough clearance and people who have used them to back up the theory.
