S&W Racing stripe

Got a nice S&W M&P .40 from a INGO member, excellent condition, as new but on the right side of the slide any marking(s) on the slide were lase erased leaving a solid gray silver stripe.

No it is a Grip safety model, so the words CAUTION CAPABLE OF FIRING WITH MAGAZINE REMOVED was never there.

I don't think it was prior LE/GOV marked

It may have been a long series of numbers like C888888999988899999 or something.
I cannot me it out

Anybody know?

Grip Safety? The EZ model is the only Smith with a Grip Safety. Do you mean a magazine disconnect?

Magazine safety this is an MP .40 not a Shield.

S&W has made M&Ps with a mag disconnect in the past and probably would again if someone requested a quantity of them. Some police agencies require a mag disconnect.
