Don't hate me but I also have a 4506 that is not for sale certainly not for the deal I got it for. This was before I retired in 2013, stopped in LGS and they had one for $250.00. They also had a Ruger 345 that I liked for $250.00, both used. Asked what kind of a deal I could get for both, $400.00, yes get out the paperwork! This was back when I lived in Hellinois so had to come back three days later to pick them up.
Ruger was less than one year old with box, papers and two extra mags. The 4506 came with a leather paddle holster and four factory mags, wow. That was really nice because I already had a 645 and they use the same mags.
The 4506 did have to take a trip to S&W for a new extractor but has remained flawless since then. Jim.

I have my first handgun a S&W 645 and will eventually add a 4506 to the safe. The fact with a spring both capable of shooting 45 super…tanks!!! And My 4006 TSW/CHP…. The absolute pinnacle of Smiths 4006 line. They perfected it with this one.

I think my lc9 with 2 mags I had bought new that year and traded for a California Department of Corrections 3913 with 2 mags was the best deal ever. This was back in 2013 when fb still allowed sales.

I need to get back on gunbroker and start checking values again.

Havn't shot my 4006 CHP yet. Your words are inspiring me to check it out.

I had one & it shot judiciously!
No more felt recoil than with a 9mm, in my limited experience.
Mine had the coveted rear adjustable sights, which I always wanted on the 9mms that I had since my POI was always low.
I let it get away from me when I was trimming calibers.

I sold it for $350, what I paid for it.
It was not pristine, but a "well-used" model, which kept the price in my sweet spot.
One of those, "wish I'd kept," guns.
My only link now to the SW 3rd gens is only a 64-5 DAO revolver.

You can knock $10 off that if you are already a member. Non-members have to pay shipping. They give members free shipping, but charge a $15 "Gun Processing Fee". Didn't get far enough to see if they charge sales tax.
