I really like shooting prone and the idea of having my feed lips and ammo exposed to the dirt just doesn't appeal to me. If I want 30 rounds ready to go I will use my Butler Creek 30 round mag. With it's steel feed lips it is every bit as reliable as factory mags.

How do you shoot prone with a 30-rd mag when you're close enough to the ground for a tri-mag to be scraping the deck?

That's what I was wondering, too. Besides, my Butler Creek "Steel Lips" mags are 25 rds each, meaning five more shots (half a mag) with the Tri-mag system.

Another point is that, while not everyone looks at it from the angle (Appleseed) I do, when you have to do a mag change in the middle of a course of fire, having them all right there is pretty cool.

I think it's cool that Ruger and TriMag are doing this, and thanks, Mandolin3, for posting it.

    Blessings,
    Bill
