Perot took a lot of GOP votes at Bush's expense. I suppose another strong independent candidate would do the same, thereby putting another socialist in the White House. One who, unlike Clinton will not enrich his/her wallet or chase poon tang, but instead will work to destroy us.

I agree with your assessment of the reality on the ground, but I can't help daydreaming about where we might be if a candidate so focused on the debt and balancing the budget had actually gotten elected and then not been co-opted by the corruption of the established parties as he sought help to implement his ideas

I think he would have done much better in the popular vote if the electorate could have seen a pathway for him to actually implement his ideas. It took another 24 years for people to become desperate enough to take that chance

Well, if AOC is the independent.. Then it's not necessarily putting a socialist in the White House.

Perhaps "the gop" should put forth stronger candidates if a short, nasal voiced guy with big ears can "take away votes" from their best offerings.

He had a message. It was well received by just enough people to put the process in a tizzy. It was not the ears. It was not the voice. It was his message. It turned enough heads.

But I agree. The crop of crap we have been subjected to is just that......crap.
