    RIP Coach Madden. In the 70s the Madden-coached Raiders were on TV a lot, because they won a lot. In an era of stoic coaches like Paul Brown and Tom Landry, Coach Madden was always animated in comparison. He was about WINNING with players no other team wanted, and he certainly did win.

    That stinks. I watched the Madden documentary on Fox on Christmas day and he looked like he was still in decent health.

    He was one of a kind for sure.

    If Madden was still coaching I would probably still be watching NFL. He had amazing players, Matusak, Hendricks and Stabler come to mind quickly, no other team wanted them and he made them winners. Jim.
