Haven't seen this so if its here please delete/lock out. But just wondered if others had a good hunt with a rifle this season ? If so please tell your story. Mine was the day after thanksgiving at 8:30am with a west wind, had 2 does come out of the woods in a picked bean field and there he was 10pt grossed 138 at 172yds, by far not my biggest buck but his was a nice one. Took the shot with a Ruger American .243 / Winchester 100gr soft point and he just stood there, I thought I missed him so chambered a 2nd round and took a high shoulder shot and dropped him in his tracks. After going up to him the first shot was spot on right behind the shoulder just where I put it. Still not sure why he just stood there "Must of been locked in on the does?" but never the less I got him. Was great to get to use a rifle for the first time and hope others had the same experience. I still hunt thickets with a shotgun but field edges the rifle has took the place of the muzzleloader. Lets here your rifle hunt !
