I do not work for HSGI, nor have I been given any thing for this review. The comments that follow are the sole opinion of the writer.
First for me personally I love the fact that HSGI products are made by hand in the United States in a small shop in North Carolina. The owner of the shop is very easy to get in contact with and is open to any questions.
The quality of the product is top notch and you can tell when looking at the stitching that the company has given a great deal of thought to the stress points of the material and done a more than adequate job of stitching on those stress points.
The availability of the color selection that they offer is nice as well, from standard black to the new rave of multi cam.
My quad holds standard .40 S&W glock magazines and I have not had a single problem at any range that I’ve been to with security. The magazines stay until I am ready for a reload.
Closures:
HSGI has used a dual method to secure the magazine in the carrier;
1. Hook and Pile
2. Snap Buckle
The hook and pile has ample room to get a good grab on itself so that you can run the rig without the buckle and not worry about dropping a magazine.
The Snap buckle is very secure and it can be used in conjunction with the hook and pile or without. HSGI has added a hideaway strip of hook that can cover all of the area of pile connection.
The whole carrier can be placed on any MOLLE or PALS system with the included clips. Here is where I have my only complaint about the item. These clips are a bit of a pain to undo, I happened to have found a small piece of plastic that works great for raising the release tab. The nice thing about the connectors is that they have the ability to be 2 different sizes. The first is the standard 3 high MOLLE, and a smaller 2 high MOLLE set up that I use for belt use.
My fix for the pita clips.
In the following pictures you will see how I currently use my carrier; my plans are to purchase a war belt and attach this carrier to my AR magazine pouches.
Here is how I set it up for FNS

- The ability for multiple mounting options.
- Color choices.
- HSGI offers a wide range of configurations for this product.
- Quality construction.
- MALICE clips these things are a PITA.
- The tag ends of the buckle closures are a bit long.
