Sorry if this comes across as a stupid question. But since we moved I find myself getting a lot more range time in. And a lot more brass collecting on the ground outback. If its been out in the elements can it be cleaned up and reused?

    Thanks

Depends on how bad it is. If it gets crusty, then no. But if it's just miscolored or tarnished then probably so. Really just depends on what it looks like. I'd pick it up and reload it or sell it to buy more ammo.

Yes. Unless it is heavily corroded. Light tarnish that tumbles out is just fine.

Yeah it just had a little mud on it. I washed some of it in dish soap and it seemed to clean up ok. I wanted to give it someone that reloads but I wanted to be sure it would be ok since I really don't know the first thing about reloading.

just pick it up and save it.
Brass is $1.50/lb so you could always sell it for scrap.
Pick up some every time you go and toss it in a 5 gal bucket at home.
Next thing you know, you've got $100 in brass for free.
Or you could trade it for some reloads, gear, or what ever.

Brass isn't bringing the money it was a year or two ago, but you never know...
I reload and I'm not getting caught with my pants down again.

I trade in what I will never use for cash, keep brass that I shoot. I am stockpiling a small amount in calibers that I may own in the future.
The brass I have traded in sort of funded a used Lee turret press I found.
I found an piece yesterday after shooting that was an inch down. It looks perfectly fine other than dull looking. It will go through the ultrasound after de-priming and be inspected for defects.
You can get an el-cheapo metal detector at Harbor Freight or maybe RKing to help you find your spent brass if you are shooting over grass.
