Indeed. I think they were like $299 from Aim Surplus like 8+/- years ago or so. Then I ordered two, kept the better, and the transfer FFL bought the other at my cost. They were very different in condition so it paid off.

I picked up a 3” 10-5 here last spring. I’d snatch up another for a reasonable price again . They have always been one of those things that when they come up you have to jump.

Bought a Australian le one from buds years ago. Like 250 bucks maybe? Wish would have bought 2. Love those grips on one in that post though
They were $299 at AIM then. Eagle grips were $100-$150. I really like the Secret Service grips but am looking at the Badger boot grips for this one maybe. Depends on the condition.

Years back, owned a M13, 3in 357mag revolver. Good carry, easy fire/extract. Traded it for a M66 4in 357mag. (Needed that for part time LEO job).
If you get the chance to own and fire a 3in S&W, do not part with it! They were the best design to CCW. Sellers remorse followed me forever.
I do own a 10-5, 4in , skinny bbl 38 spec. Never will we seperate. Fantastic gun.

Very cool, these are phenomenal little guns. 3" K frame is a pretty magical little package - carries easily, balances, easy to shoot. Bought one from Snorko about 12 years ago. Didn't get to keep it long, sadly. Wasn't really super stable financially at the time and had to sell it to quickly fund some car repairs. Still miss it.

Those no of us old enough to start in the revolver days remember. The 3” K frame was the Glock 19 size of Revolvers

Well I am a little disappointed but only a little. Both are model 10-5 versions. Both marked PW Arms Redmond WA on the backstraps so I am thinking they are foreign police trade-ins.

The wood grip gun has a good tight action with minimal cylinder wiggle. Single action trigger is excellent and the double action seems a tad heavy but smooth. The grips are oversized and very rough. The finish is well worn, especially around the cylinder, but no rust.

The rubber grip gun has somewhat better bluing overall but a couple spots of surface rust. The grip screw won't go into the grip. I will toss those anyway. Double action is similar to the other, maybe a few ounces lighter. However it has no single action. I haven't opened them up yet to see if this is a DAO conversion yet. When I thumb the hammer back the cylinder rotates and locks but the hammer does not catch. Since this is a re-import and lots of foreign LE uses DAO revolvers, I am going to assume it is correct for now.

Cleaned them up a bit and I feel a little better about the condition. No pitting or rust, just bluing wear. I replaced the wood grips with a Hogue rubber grip I had laying around. The rubber grips are OK. The nut from the right grip was threaded all the way up the screw, keeping it from seating. Probably done so the serial number could be checked. Still ordered a set of Pachmayr Gripper Professional grips to try out.

Someday I may cerakote one but for now they are good honest working revolvers.
