After about 2-3 magazines, my streamlight tlr-1 has a nice black frost over the lens from powder residue. Anyone have a trick for decreasing/eliminating this?

I apply a light thin coating of Vaseline to the lens. It doesn't hinder light output but it makes removing the residue a snap.

Probably a good idea to practice with the configuration that you might actually have to use one day.

This. Im not as concerned about it happening on the range when I have plenty of time to clean it off as I am it happening should the real thing happen.

I've shot a couple of hundred rounds in one sitting and while the light had that "frosted" look at the end of the range session, it was still throwing plenty of light. If the "real thing" happens, its unlikely you are going to shoot enough to cause your light to dim.
